In this Almost Daily episode I riff on a simple question. What is possible for you. The honest answer is that neither of us knows until you start. So I invite you to get curious, dream bigger than feels comfortable, and take a tiny step today even if it is only twenty seconds of action.

We talk about how over logical thinking can build a box around your life. Responsibilities matter, and you still only get one life. Use tools like the five whys to uncover what you really want, then ask a better question. Can I go bigger.

This one is recorded in one take, shipped as is, and that is the point. If you have been sitting on a podcast episode, a post, a project, or a goal because it is not perfect, publish the messy version today. Start where you are, adjust as you go, and let your curiosity set the pace.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, Daryl sits down once again with Zachary Fenell for another heartfelt and insightful conversation about life with cerebral palsy and the importance of building strong support systems.

Daryl and Zach open up about what independence truly means and how support can look different for everyone depending on the season of life. They discuss the value of knowing what you need, asking for help without guilt, and recognizing that a healthy support system is built on mutual respect and compassion.

Zach shares powerful stories about moving out on his own, working with supportive colleagues, and maintaining independence while relying on community. He and Daryl also touch on deeper emotional layers like overcoming the feeling of being a burden, recognizing your worth in relationships, and giving yourself permission to lean on others when needed.

The conversation expands to how sharing your story can create meaningful connections. From Zach’s marathon journey inspired by John W. Quinn’s Someone Like Me to his leadership with the online CP Chat Now community, this episode reminds us that support systems can start with one conversation, one post, or one act of sharing.

Daryl and Zach highlight how living with cerebral palsy builds problem-solving resilience and creativity that often goes unnoticed. They close with a call for everyone to find ways to connect—whether it’s through online communities, friendships, or revisiting people who once played a key role in your life.

If you’ve ever struggled to ask for help, felt isolated, or wondered how to build your circle of support, this episode will remind you that you already have the strength, creativity, and value to connect and thrive.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I am reminding you to start where you are and do what you can. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or worried about what others might think, this is your nudge to take the next step you can see. One step, then another, then another. You cannot screw your goals up unless you stop trying, and most people come back when the time is right anyway.

We talk about why comparing your path to what you think others are doing keeps you in your head and out of action. I share how to take the first step, how to pivot when the plan shifts, and how to ignore the noise from critics who are not living your life. Make a plan, hold it loosely, adjust as you go, and keep moving.

I want to hear your next step. Email me and tell me what you are starting today. Let’s keep it simple, honest, and consistent. Progress follows action. Always.

In this episode I make the case for loving yourself while you work toward your goals. If your fuel is self criticism you may move fast, but you will never feel settled. I walk through how to untangle the opinions you have picked up from others, why the means of getting results matters, and how an inside/out approach gives you a steadier path forward.

We talk about trusting yourself to figure things out, adjusting with honesty, and refusing the rabbit wheel of endless fixes. Use my content to reinforce what you already believe about your ability, not replace it. Give me ten minutes a day if it helps, then go live your life. The point of view you carry into your effort is the difference maker. Choose appreciation, choose compassion, and keep moving.

In this episode I walk you through my weekly progress updates for fitness and weight loss, and why I share them openly. I give the backstory on building the YLF Experience, how the inside/out foundation came together, and why I believe modeling the process matters as much as the outcome. I also talk about returning from a beach trip at 239.9 pounds, using food to cope without shame, and choosing a pace that I can actually live with.

You will hear what my training looks like right now. Two total body lift sessions, three rides of three miles each, and a switch from the recumbent bike to the upright which I really enjoy. I cover the ankle rehab work, daily stretching, and how I am managing CP related biomechanics while easing back into consistent movement. On the food side I share the photo food journal approach in the YLF app, last week’s nine restaurant or cookie meals as my baseline, and the simple goal for this week. Four or fewer non prepped meals, no guilt attached.

The theme is data over drama. I weigh in, take front, side, and back photos, measure my waist, and move on. If the scale bumps up two pounds I note it, look at patterns, and keep going. We acknowledge emotions, then make decisions from information. That is how a forever active lifestyle takes shape. There is also a little teaser for something special coming in November. Details soon.

    Episode Description

In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about a phrase that can quietly hold us back. You know the one. “That’s just the way I am.” It sounds harmless, but it often covers the very habits or beliefs that keep us from growing. When you catch yourself saying it, take note. Write those things down and look at them with honesty and patience.

You don’t have to fix everything right now. Awareness is the first step. Over time, you’ll decide which parts of yourself are worth keeping and which are ready to evolve. Give yourself the space to change when you’re ready, and trust that you will.

If this topic connects with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Email me at daryl@yourlevelfitness.com and let’s talk about it. Thank you as always for listening and watching, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

    Episode Description

In this episode, I’m diving into a concept that really matters right now. We live in an and world. It’s not always one truth or the other. Two things can be true at the same time, and that applies to how we view ourselves, others, and even the way we approach health and fitness.

I share my thoughts on how easy it is to fall into absolutes when we’re constantly being hit with information, opinions, and “truths.” Whether it’s online, at the store, or in conversations, we’re always being pulled to pick sides. But life isn’t that simple. It’s full of nuance and context.

We talk about finding common ground, reconnecting with others, and recognizing that what’s true for you might look different for someone else. I also share how this perspective fits into the YLF philosophy of living from the inside/out. When we focus on connection, listening, and building from our shared humanity, we can truly support one another in becoming our best selves.
