The quick, easy path that's sold to us is another product of the patriarchy. The feminist antidote asks us to think differently about what is easy and what is hard, what is time and what is desire. Actually knowing that things are hard is the key to feeling more ease around them; knowing that things are made easy in life for certain people to serve the patriarchy helps us detach from the hypnotic pull towards that quick, easy fix. Freed of that, we can accept the time things take, the work things take, the effort and the labor--all of which help change us into something better.
