  • We absolutely adore novels written and set in the Britain of the 19th century, and late 18th century. We want to bring the stories from The Golden Age of the British Novel to life, and make them ’accessible’ to a modern audience.

    A young woman, in a seaside town, is drawn to the two sons of her landlord. Both of these are fighting, at different times, against Napoleon. Her third suitor, a loathsome bully, but the local squire's nephew, is bent on avoiding physical military tussles. He is, however, fond of physically tussling with our poor heroine.
