À propos de cet audio
This weekend, all Michigan Medicine team members and the surrounding community are invited to a special event at Washtenaw Community College designed to celebrate the disability community. To help preview the event -- and to dive deeper into the topic of disability and health care, the Wrap welcomed Michelle Meade, Ph.D., director of the Center for Disability Health and Wellness at Michigan Medicine.
“Too often, health care looks at disability as something to be cured,” said Meade. “But the disability community is a resilient, rich, diverse group of individuals. So we need to start by listening and learn what these individuals are concerned about, what their priorities are and what their unique challenges are.”
Take a listen to Meade’s in-depth conversation – and cohost Daniel Ellman’s perspective as a manual wheelchair user – today!
