À propos de cet audio

My name is Reija and I am your expert for shelter dogs, street dogs, stray and feral dogs. We know that shelter dogs are different. They come with stories, often shaped by fear. I live in France with my six feral dogs. I will show you how to build a trusting relationship with your dog, how to overcome behavioural problems and how to respond to their special needs, how to better understand your street dog and how to turn him into a reliable family dog.Reija Feldmann

    • Starve your dog because the wolf is starving too.
    • Dry food is deadly.
    • Absolutely no treats during training.
    • Don't give anything from the table.
    • The dog only gets something after the human.
    • Leave the dog sitting in front of the full bowl until the command comes.
    • Take the bowl away from the dog.
    • Only give food from the dummy bag.

There are so many myths and assumptions about dogs and food.

We will look at this bit by bit and see what really makes sense and what is rather counterproductive.

  • #25 is a stary trainable?
    Mar 24 2025

A lot of clients tell me that dog trainers tell them to give up, because a stray cannot be trained. This is not true. I believe, I know that stray dogs can be trained too. It is possible to have a peaceful and trusting relationship with this dogs, no matter what they went through in the past.

We will look at what is a stray and how can this dog still be trained.

What is that anyway and how would I know?

Humans and dogs have lived together for thousands of years. As nomads, humans and their dogs followed the animal herds.

Until humans settled 10,000 years ago. At that time, humans began to imprison animals in order to use them better for themselves.

Much of what humans today believe about animals, they know from domesticated and caged animals.

Wolves were caught and observed in enclosures - under completely unnatural conditions.

    The same applies to horses.

They are not natural family herds or packs.

There is only limited space, food and resting places.

This leads to rivalries among the animals.

And this is how humans base their knowledge about animal behaviour and how to treat them.

Many domesticated animals comply because they don't know any better, out of fear or helplessness.

How can you escape or counteract this?

I will get to the bottom of this question in the webinar and use the observations and experiences with my animals, both wild and domesticated, as examples.
