  • After Abraham - Tracing the Promise Through Time
    Aug 11 2025

In Episode 3 of Understanding the Light, we pick up where Abraham's journey left off and follow the unfolding story of God's convenant people through Jesus.

This episode connects key biblical events to the real-world timeline by examining archaeological, cultural, and textual discoveries that affirm the historical credibility of the Old Testament. The evidence reveals surprising consistency between the biblical record and the ancient world.

    You'll discover:

    - Evidence of nomadic tribes in Canaan during the time of the patriarchs

    - Clues that point to Joseph's rise to power in Egypt - including Semitic presence in the Nile Delta

    - How early Egyptian history aligns with the Bible's account of famine, foreign rulers, and social unrest

    - A look at the transition from Genesis to Exodus, and how archaeology supports the Israelites' presence in Egypt before their dramatic exit.

This is the part of the Bible where the promise made to Abraham starts to take root in history - and the evidence shows it wasn't just spiritual metaphor. It was real.

"I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed." - Genesis 26:4

  • From Creation to Abraham - The Archaeological Record Speaks
    Aug 4 2025

In Episode 2 of Understanding the Light, we begin our journey through the Bible with a look at the physical, historical evidence that supports the early chapters of Genesis - from Creation to the life of Abraham.

While critics often label the early parts of Scripture as myth or allegory, archaeology tells a different story. This episode highlights real discoveries that align with and affirm the biblical narrative - showing that the Bible is not only a book of faith, but also a record rooted in history.

    You'll hear about:

    - How ancient Near East texts and artifacts reflect a memory of a global flood

    - Archaeological finds that support early civilizations described in Genesis

    - Evidence of advanced early human culture that defies evolutionary assumptions

    - The historical setting of Ur and Haran - and what archaeology reveals about Abraham's world

Each discovery we cover provides another peice of the puzzle, confirming that the events in Genesis weren't written in isolation - they happened in real places, among real people.

"Your Word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens." - Psalm 119:89

  • My Story - From Chaos to Confidence in God's Word
    Aug 1 2025

In this premiere episode of Understanding the Light, we set the stage for a journey through Scripture like you've never heard before. Join me as I share my personal story - how a turbulent childhood opened the door for faith to take root, and how witnessing the transformation of others drew me nearer to God.

From there, I walk you through my experience studying Marine Biology and Oceanography at a secular university. While the academic world heavily promoted evolution and a godless view of origins, I found that honest inquiry and evidence brought me to a deeper, stronger faith in the truth of the Bible.

    In this episode, you'll hear:

    - How God reached me in the middle of family brokenness

    - The influence of early faith experiences and real-life transformation

    - The tension I felt in college between faith and scientific claims

    - Why the evidence for a literal reading of Scripture - both scientifically and archaeologically - made my faith unshakable

This is just the beginning. In future episodes, we'll explore the Bible book by book, examining the scientific and historical supports for its truth.

"Sanctify them by the truth; your Word is truth." - John 17:17
