  • Don’t follow your dreams…chase them!, with Malaika
    Mar 25 2023

Here we are at the last episode of the season and believe me when I say that it is a special one! I could not think of a better way to wrap up this season and I hope this conversation motivates you as much as it motivates me. Malaika, aka K.O.besha, will take us on their trip from Victoria, BC to Toronto, Ontario. This is a real time capsule, as the beginning of the episode was recorded before the move and the second part was recorded 7 months later, after the move. We’ll talk about ambitions, intentional change and enthusiasm to actively shape our own future rather than waiting for it to happen. You can find K.O.besha’s music on the links below:

  • Chosen family, fermentation and culture, with Aaron
    Mar 11 2023

From Egypt to Stz’uminus Territories (in Vancouver Island, BC, Canada), Aaron will take us on a long journey today. We’ll speak of time and patience, of intentionality and genuine relationships with people, culture and land. While we do not get to choose when and where we are born, how we look and our blood relations, we must work to make the choices that are true to ourselves for our wellbeing and the wellbeing of our community.

Below you can find some of Aaron’s wonderful work to enjoy and support.

  • Keep on moving, with Baraka
    Feb 25 2023

Today we’ll sip tea and talk about moving across to a different continent as a child. We’ll talk about the importance of people and relationships, and about how they can help us learn about the world. We’ll think about what it means to be a constant in a liminal space. We’ll talk about the smaller and wider community of a place, from the people that you know and see regularly to the people that you do not necessarily know but feel connected with because of shared experiences.

Among their many talents, Baraka DJs and produces very sweet beats as part of the Hidden Variable collective (https://hiddenvariable.bandcamp.com/). Below you can find links to some of Baraka’s music & music collaborations to enjoy and support:
