You're not the church DJ. If your idea of “leading worship” is picking four songs, making sure the transitions don’t sound awkward, and praying you don’t forget the lyrics — you’re missing the whole point. Worship leading is not about shuffling songs, it's about shepherding souls.

“It’s not about the worship team,” we preach. But then Sunday hits, and guess what? We’re back on the platform, anxiously watching the congregation for signs of engagement. We check if hands are raised, if eyes are closed, if the energy feels right. We tweak transitions and rework pads and obsess over vocal blends because… we’re still trying to win.

But it’s the wrong battle.
