For Bud, living in the shadow of his legend relative hasn't really been an issue, and his role in the timeline shift is supposed to be minor. But Kali has an agenda, magic has its own agenda, and since Thorn is old, and tired of his people's reliance on him, he too has an agenda.

It's crunch time for Jonathon Hunter. The Darkness War has begun. His nightmares led him to the edge of death, waiting for darkness. Prophecy will not be denied, and the nightmare seemed to suggest all would go black. But is a nightmare something you can really rely on after all? What were the events which shaped the galaxy Jon Hunter finds himself in? And what of the previous Jon Hunter's, mentioned in prophecy?

There are some days when you should just stay in bed. Jon Hunter begins to realize this, as the consequences of saying yes, when he should have said no, begin to add up. The trouble with making tech advances, is someone will always come up with a counter eventually. And when this occurs on one of those days you should have stayed in bed, the cosmos tends to demonstrate just how many ways things can actually go wrong. But time is ticking away. The door to Jon's home, and all the answers he so desperately wants, is soon to open.

Liza Pound now has more than she ever wanted. And a lot she didn't. Like a bullseye painted on her back. She's stuck a stick in the local "ant hill," and the foxes are not happy about it. The Keerah are too busy fighting themselves to control the foxes, and someone else doing it was not in anyone's hunt plan.

The new Dragon Host goes operational with a mission for the Terrans. But as their numbers and skills rise, so do the questions. Why did the last Host end? Why are dragon kind so scattered? Liza Pound needs a solution to her Fox problem. They simply will not stop coming at her. But as her list of friends expands, so too does her list of enemies. And the more ships she gets to react with, the more get thrown at her to react to. It's time to stop reacting. Now is the time for some serious Tail Pulling.

The Keerah War is getting personal for the Dragon Host. Their original home world is out there somewhere. Answers which Bud and Willow seek still elude them.
