تتناول الرواية قصة شجرة الدر كأول امرأة ملكة تتولي الحكم في تاريخ مصر الإسلامية، حيث قدرت لها الأقدار أن تتوج ملكة على مصر بعد مقتل الملك «طوران شاه» آخر سلاطين الدولة الأيوبية.

تعمل "رحمة" في مجال حقوق الإنسان وترى أنَّ المجرمين لا يستحقون أدنى أنواع الشفقة وكما عشنا معها أفكارها المجنونة في الجزء الأول من هذه الرواية وركضنا خلف شغفها ودفاعها عن العدالة سنكمل الرحلة في هذا الجزء لكن بشكلٍ مغاير.

الإرهاب دائرةٌ تتشكّل من عدو خطير يتجسد فى بشر غايتهم سفك الدماء لكنَّ في وسط تلك الدّائرة كان يقبع وحشٌ صغير غايته جمع المال و تكوين ثروة أساسها إزهاق أرواح الأبرياء فيصطدم بالحبّ الذي يصير له خصمًا عنيفًا فهل تستطيع وردة مقاومة رصاصة؟!

تدور أحداث القصة حول شخوصها وأولهم شخصٌ يدعى بائع الحظ، يأخذ جلسات كهربائية للدماغ، كان في الماضي قد اتُهم بموت أحدهم حين قفز من نافذة المستشفى فعزلوه في غرفة واعتبروا بائع الحظ سبباً في موته لفتحه النافذة حين ما كانوا يشاهدون هطول المطر، يعيش بائع الحظ وحيداً في منزلٍ خالٍ من التكنولوجيا، يبيع أوراق يناصيب قديمة لم يعد يتعامل الناس بها فيرمقونهم بنظراتهم الحادة وهو في الشارع ينادي ليبيعها، وهو مرتدياً ملابساً غريبة قديمة لا تجاري الموضة.

" سيأتي زمن على قوم، قسموا بين البحر والبر، طغت على قلوبهم البغضاء واحترقوا بنار الشيطان حتى انحفرت لعنته على أجسام بعضهم قبل انشقاق القمر وانهيار السماء، فيحين يوم لا تنفع فيه قوة ولا جاه، لا مال ولا بنون، ويقوم العنقاء من رماده وتنفخ الأبواق في السماء معلنة أنه حان يوم الانعتاق.."

فتاة يتيمة ومحاسب عقيم وممرض فاسد، هؤلاء بعض ساكني الحارة الذين رأوا واقعة قتل ذلك الدرويش إلّا أن البلطجي هددهم واستطاع إخراسهم كأن لم تحدث الجريمة أمامهم، غيرأن صمتهم هذا جلب عليهم مالم يكن يتخيلوا أن يروه في أسوأ كوابيسهم... لقد رفع الستار عن الجانب المظلم من نفسياتهم الخربة، وشاهدواخلفها ما تقشعر منه الأبدان عقابًا لهم على ماضيهم الأسود وأيضا عقابا لشيطانهم الأخرس عندما سكتوا عن الحق.!!
