A hip new doughnut shop known for its bizarre recipes is opening up in Greenfield. At first, the owners of the other doughnut shop in town, Delilah's, aren't worried. Their shop has been a fixture downtown since just after World War II. But when the new shop starts making doughnuts that look just like some of Delilah's greatest hits, the Boxcar Children must figure out if it's just a coincidence or if someone from the new shop is stealing Delilah's recipes.

When the Aldens first arrive in Elbow Bend, they meet Kate Frances, who tells them all sorts of ghost stories about the town! The scariest tale is about a ghost dog who howls at midnight and appears to warn people of danger! The Aldens think it is just a story until they hear dogs all over Elbow Bend howling at midnight. Does the ghost dog really exist or is someone playing a trick on them? The Boxcar Children are determined to find out.

Henry and Jessie have signed up to be in a robotics competition with a team from school. But someone from another team isn’t playing by the rules. Can the Aldens use their sleuthing skills and what they’ve learned about technology to find the culprit and save the day?

The Aldens are spending a weekend at Goldwin University for Grandfather’s college reunion. The children are fascinated by the mysterious clock tower overshadowing campus and they soon learn that the tower might hold the key to a valuable secret from the past! The Aldens are excited to visit a deserted South Seas island. But soon they discover clues that they are not alone. Is someone on the island watching them?

Their job is to mark sea turtle nests so the eggs can be moved to a safe place to hatch, but someone is digging up the eggs without permission. It’s a big week at Cogwheel Stadium—the Clayton Cogs are playing for the pennant! But the other team’s batters seem to know the pitches too well, and it’s clear someone in the stadium is stealing the Cogs pitcher’s signals. Now the Boxcar Children must find out who is spying for the other team!
