Welcome back to Holmestead, England, where a centuries-old murder mystery, stolen art, and a furniture-rearranging ghost disrupt this picture postcard village. Maggie and Martin return from their honeymoon relaxed and happy and walk into chaos. Maggie's ghost has taken up permanent residence in her house and is creating havoc. When Maggie finds another journal, hidden in a secret compartment, she finally has the chance to solve her ancestor's murder. With Martin and Spencer's help, she puts together the clues, each one moving her closer to the truth.

Join ace crime reporter Colin Crampton and his feisty Australian girlfriend Shirley Goldsmith as they embark on a new adventure. It all starts when Colin spends a lazy afternoon by the beach with Shirley. But when a daring robbery takes place, Colin reckons he's on the trail of a big story. But nothing about the robbery is what it seems. Colin and Shirley are drawn deeper into danger. Colin encounters a motorcycle rocker with bad teeth, a dyslexic tattooist, and a seller of novelty toilet roll holders as he chases down his story.
