"Love and Freindship" [sic] is a juvenile story by Jane Austen, dated 1790. From the age of 11 until she was 18, Austen wrote her tales in three notebooks. These still exist, one in the Bodleian Library and the other two in the British Museum. They contain, among other works, "Love and Freindship", written when she was 14, and "The History of England", written when she was 15.

Several years later to the horror of Lady Mary she becomes engaged to her son Conrad who has his own rather questionable past.

Zuleika Dobson, internationally famous prestidigitator visits her grandfather, the Warden of Judas College, Oxford. But Zuleika, "though not strictly beautiful" is a devastatingly attractive young woman, and proves utterly irresistible among the all-male undergraduate body - including the snobbish and trend-setting young Duke of Dorset. Thus begins a chain of events that culminates in a very watery end to the Eights Week boat races...

Jeremy Garnet is a writer living peacefully in London with his wife when he is presented with a somewhat a peculiar opportunity. His old friend is starting a chicken farm and invites Jeremy to come along. Yet what he imagines to be a relaxing environment soon turns out to be something quite different. This novel by P. G.
