Maja ist inzwischen zu einer starken und erfahrenen Biene herangewachsen. Manchmal ist sie von Heimweh geplagt und sehnt sich nach der Gemeinschaft ihres Bienenvolkes. Doch der Wunsch, den Menschen kennenzulernen, ist stärker. In der folgenden Nacht bahnt sich dieser Wunsch seinen Weg.

Als der Eingang sich verdunkelt, verhalten sich die Bienen im Stock so still, dass die Hornissen glauben, der Stock schliefe.
