Især er der lagt vægt på, at sproget skal være letforståeligt, og så er der blevet plads til lidt mere humor, end man normalt finder i de gamle folkeeventyr. Der er også skåret en del i de meget grusomme straffe, så de bliver knap så grusomme. En særdeles børnevenlig og højtlæsningsegnet udgave af brødrene Grimms eventyr – også for mindre børn.
