As Alex and J return to Wyvern Academy, all hell breaks loose. Gone are the days of taking notes in class and pretending to be normal students. Yamada answered "no" twice in a compulsory government questionnaire as to whether he would serve in the armed forces and swear loyalty to the United States. After a draining December, Sakuta is quickly nearing the end of his second year of high school. Since Mai is a third-year student, they don’t have much time left together before graduation rolls around. Meanwhile, his sister, Kaede, is slowly but steadily venturing outdoors again. Sakuta knows better than anyone how difficult this will be for Kaede, and he’s ready to support her however he can.

But something goes wrong during the teleportation, and she is separated from her other half...once again. With Mithra's help, she has to return to Kongenssoevn to bring those she left behind to the safety of the Dominion before locating Asoko. But first comes the long-awaited reunion with her mother. The young Crawling Chaos gains insights into her past life, faces betrayal, and makes a new unlikely ally. Her involuntary journey even takes her into space, where she will learn the terrible secret about the world she reincarnated into.

Euphemistically labeled as the "Water Supply and Prophylaxis Administration" and "HippoEpizootic Administration" of the Imperial Japanese Army, Unit 731 and Unit 100, as well as their subsidiary branches, performed human experimentation on the innocents under the leadership of Dr. Ishii Shiro. Although the exact number of victims is unclear since the Japanese destroyed most of the evidence at the end of the war, but it ranged from 3,000-250,000 innocent men, women, and children.
