Called by New York Times columnist David Brooks the "smartest and most devastating" critic of President George W. Bush's Iraq policies, Peter W. Galbraith was the earliest expert to describe Iraq's breakup into religious and ethnic entities, a reality that is now commonly accepted.

The U.S. military detention center at Guantanamo Bay - known to the public as Gitmo - has been called the American Gulag, a scene of medieval horrors where innocent farmers and goat herders swept up in Afghanistan and Iraq have been sequestered, tortured, and abused for years on end without access to legal counsel or basic medical services.

The Battle of Fallujah, Part Two, kicked off in November of 2004, right after the U.S. Presidential elections. It was the most intense battle since the battle for Hue City in the Vietnam War. It was a combined and joint operation with the Army's Black Jack Brigade and Iraqi forces participating. In 1990, U.S. Army Major Martin Stanton was a military advisor stationed in Saudi Arabia.
