"Le livre de l'Exode" est le deuxième livre de la Bible et de l'Ancien Testament. Il raconte l'exode hors d'Égypte des Hébreux sous la conduite de Moïse, le don des Dix Commandements et les pérégrinations du peuple hébreu dans le désert du Sinaï en direction de la Terre promise. Son titre originel en hébreu est Shemot, littéralement "les Noms". Traditionnellement, la rédaction du livre est attribuée à Moïse.

"Le livre de Sophonie" ou de Cephania est un livre de l'Ancien Testament. Il date du VIe siècle avant l'ère chrétienne. Sophonie est un prophète qui vécut pendant le règne de Josias, roi de Juda. Il y est annoncé la venue du Jour du jugement de Dieu pour le peuple d'Israël qui a adopté des dieux païens et commis des mauvaises actions. Les nations voisines sont aussi menacées, en particulier les Philistins, le royaume de Moab, les Ammonites, la Nubie et la ville de Ninive, capitale de l'Assyrie.

"La prophétie de Joël" est un passage de l'Ancien Testament. La Bible ne contient aucun élément biographique sur son auteur. Sa rédaction remoante à une période comprise entre les ve et iiie siècles. Il est centré sur une prophétie faite par Joël lorsque le pays de Juda a été affligé par une grande famine et par les sauterelles (criquets) (Joël 1:4–20). Une horde d'insectes ravage le pays. Le feu les précède et achève la dévastation. Partout sévit la famine. Le soleil se change en ténèbres et la lune en sang, car le jour de jugement de Dieu est proche.

"Le livre de Michée" est un livre de l'Ancien Testament. Le prophète juif Michée a été chargé par Dieu de rétablir la paix et la justice en Israël. Il est précisé que le Messie naîtra à Bethléem. Dans le livre, le Seigneur consulte son peuple et lui rappelle sa bonté passée à son égard ; il exige de lui la justice, la miséricorde et l'humilité. D'après le titre de son livre, Michée a exercé son ministère sous les trois rois de Juda, Jotham, Achaz et Ezéchias (857-494 av. J.-C.).

"Le livre de Daniel", écrit en hébreu et en araméen, fait partie de l'Ancien Testament. Le livre décrit des événements se déroulant de la captivité du peuple juif à Babylone sous Nabuchodonosor II, le roi de Babylone entre 605 et 562 av. J.-C., jusqu'à l'époque séleucide sous Antiochos IV, entre 175 et 163 av. J.-C. Les six premiers chapitres racontent l'histoire de Daniel et sont mis en scène au cours des épisodes de Babylone et de la Perse.
