Maud is an irascible 88-year-old Swedish woman with no family, no friends, and...no qualms about a little murder. Det är valborg i Uppsala - studenternas stora högtid. Men den uppslupna stämningen förtas när två kvinnliga studenter våldtas inom loppet av några dygn. Kort därpå hittas ännu ett offer. Den här gången är kvinnan strypt till döds och utstuderat placerad i den anatomiska teatern i en av universitetets äldre byggnader. Oron sprider sig och polisen befarar att det kommer begås fler brutala överfall.

Jan Guillous serie om Carl Hamilton blev omedelbart en stor framgång, som med åren kom att växa till Sveriges största romansuccé genom tiderna. Vendetta är den sjätte delen i serien och utkom 1991.

Djupt inne i den afrikanska öknen upptäcker Dirk Pitt och hans sällskap att den topphemliga riskfallsanläggningen läcker en livsfarlig, kemisk substans. Det försåtliga giftet sprids i Nigers vatten och orsakar sjukdom och död bland människorna längs flodens stränder. Nu hotar giftet att släcka allt liv i världshaven – en global miljökatastrof som kan komma att innebära slutet för mänskligheten. En samvetslös fransk industrimagnat och en västafrikansk general står bakom projektet. Farliga, korrumperade män, beredda att göra allt för att hindra att världen får veta vad som pågår.

Aldrig tidigare har Carl Hamilton känt sig så pressad.
