When the Aldens take a summer trip to the New England coast, they have a fun place to stay: a lighthouse! But strange things happen after it gets dark - an unknown woman is seen walking around, and Watch, the Aldens' dog, wakes up growling late at night. The Boxcar Children are spending the summer in a tiny, quiet New England fishing village. The little schoolhouse doesn’t have a proper teacher, so the Aldens are teaching! Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny used to live alone in a boxcar. Now they have a home with their grandfather, and they're fixing up their boxcar so they can ride it in the big Greenfield Founder's Day parade.
