Nothing happened

The story did not progress at all. The MC did not progress at all. The story jumps around without reason. I'm really disappointed. The first book had me grabbing this one before I even finished it. This book the MC does nothing. Magic student but can't cast spells? This was a waste of time. Hope the next one will be better or I'll need to get my money back. Can probably skip this book and jump to the next one when it is out and not miss out on anything.
