Publisher's Summary

You've thought about just up and running away. Faced with a loss that destroys strength, purpose, and hope, who could blame you? Life is hard. Sometimes, too hard. This is one woman's candid and compelling journey across Canada, on a road to discovery, a road to the other side of grief, a road to joy.

With a sharp tongue, gut-wrenching honesty, side-splitting hilarity, and the raw emotion of her own experience, Alexandra Stacey has the listener wondering how anyone can feel so much, so strongly. This audiobook isn't a story that one listens to; it's an adventure that one experiences. It is impossible to know where the fiction stops and the reality starts.

One of the few I reread regularly

I read this when I want to feel. When I want to laugh. And when I want to cry. The protagonist’s travels across cou try and through her own mind are spot on - both for the Canadian scenery and the journey through grief. There’s so many lessons here. Ones that I need reminding of over and over. For me the biggest one is learning how to laugh while your falling apart. I would recommend this book to anyone - not just widows. But I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who maybe just lost someone. It’s too real and the first half is really hard to read even when you’re emotionally solid.
Spoiler -
but it gets better.

Best Book

This is one of the best books I have ever read!
I identified with the main character on so many levels. I loved her journey.
