Publisher's Summary
Moonstone Bay is in an uproar. The DDA is on the run, but they’re not going down without a fight. While all that’s going on, Hadley Hunter is practicing her magic. She managed to join with her elemental friends for a huge wins—and feels that’s important for the DDA fight—but she needs practice.
Nothing is perfect, however.
When a tourist is found dead on the beach one night after hearing a series of eerie howls, Hadley and her boyfriend Galen Blackwood think they have a new mystery to solve. The problem is, all signs point to a wendigo…which shouldn’t be possible on Moonstone Bay.
Things become even more convoluted when the victim’s movements on the night of her death lead them to a local. He denies killing her, but something is clearly amiss.
There’s a wendigo, a rogue DDA faction, and a plane door that just won’t stay closed.
Hadley has a lot on her plate. Nothing is going to stop her from doing what needs to be done, however. She’s ready to fight … even if that fight might kill her.
Hadley’s friends are determined to help, but as usual, she’s at the center of things. Moonstone Bay is caught in a shift of unbelievable proportions, but only one faction can come out on top.
There’s a battle coming, and when the truth comes out, everybody will be rocked.
Buckle up, because this ride is going to be bumpy.

main character gets more dramatic every book....
wtf? what is up with the main character? she is more dramatic and ridiculous every book. She isn't a police officer or a shifter, but she is bewildered why she isn't included in those things because "like omg, her bf is totally both of those things." Sometimes, her character is absolutely cringe-worthy. Come on Amanda M. Lee! Write your ladies better! What's with all the whining? yuck.

Love the story, hate the narrator
I am a big fan of Amanda Lee, and have read and/or listened to many (almost all?) of her books.
I really like the Moonstone Bay series. However, any future editions will be read via Kindle, as long as this narrator is reading them. Her voices for the characters are actually pretty good (although Hadley comes off as a little too whiny), but her inflection is completely off, which makes her slightly nasally delivery almost more than I can handle.

Narrator is painful to hear
I love author But this series has gone downhill, and the narrator is awful. I will not listen to another done by her. I wqs cringing with the way she speaks. It is just awful. Dont waste money on listen. Use kindle and read it so you can add your own inflection.

Avid fan but
I have literally read multiple series by Amanda M Lee but struggled with the first half of the book. Hadleigh's usual snarkiness came off so whiny that I honestly skipped part. Hence my lower rating compared to my usual 5 stars.

Very painful listen
I have listened to the entire series and while I find the narrator absolutely painful to listen to (really, you do not need to physically screech just because the narration says so), this book was just horribly written. The author has made the heroine someone that you just dislike. She is selfish, childish, obnoxious, and add in horrible narration you dind yourself either cringing or mocking the book. Not exactly sure what the author was intending.
I don't want to hear "whole heart", "chests heaving", "it ends today", and oh so many more badly written passages This isn't snarky, it is whiny and screachy.
This will be the last book I buy in the series as I really don't even care anymore, I just want to be put out of my misery from ever having to listen to this narrator again.

Love the story
I love the story but if I’m completely honest Hadley’s childish behaviors make it hard to get through some parts. She whines any time she’s not capitulated to and it’s pretty obnoxious. However the store is so good I power through.

Another Winner
The story is funny and exhilarating in turns. Finally the powers that be are thwarted and the gang grows more powerful. I like the solution with the Wendigo too. Bravo!
