Publisher's Summary

Abbey: We're back on Silence orbiting the Dark Planet while my husband handles unfinished business on Kythia. For some reason, he seems a little bit tense. According to Tarak, Kythian politics can be complicated. I just hope things don't get too complicated, because I don't want to be stuck here for too long. A warship isn't really the best place to raise a child.

Tarak: The only way to keep Abbey and Ami safe is to bring down the Empire. Afterwards, it is the statesmen and scholars who will rebuild our civilization. I'm just here to provide the muscle, but above all, I'm here to keep my mate and my child safe. If anything or anyone dares to threaten them...they know how I will respond. The problem is that not all enemies can be taken down by force.

Contains mature themes.

Dull end to the Tarak/Abby arc

9 hours worrying about Abby’s illness and looking for a cure. Lacking in tension, plot, or interest. Least liked book.

Great end to series arc

This appears to be the end of the primary series arc of Kordolian General Tarak al Akkadian and Earth woman Abby Kendricks and the impact of their union on Earth and Kythia. I’m happy to say that it’s well done and one of the reasons it’s worth your time to read this series.
If you’re into Romance with a Sci-fi bent; human woman and alien male; this series is one of the better ones out there.
Macie and McLaren do a good job of narration for the book and series.
Enjoy;-)

I tried. I really tried.

As much as I loved this series, and usually enjoy Anna Caravan's work, I couldn't get through this. Maybe the story unfolds and gets better, but I didn't make it through the second chapter.

Tarek & Abby.

A good story about Abby getting sick and Tarek doing anything for her to heal her. I enjoyed this story, but I think it is time to retire Tarek & Abby as main characters. I love them, but I want more Kordolians soldiers to find their mates. I see that there is a spin off series with Tarek’s mercenaries and I look forward to Audible getting them. Their daughter is cute, it will be good to see her grow up and get a mate, and what lucky guy would have to contend with her father, maybe someday. I enjoy the narrators.

Another great story with Abby and Her General!

This was a great audiobook to listen to. I highly recommend this series be listened to in the order they are published, in order for the stories to make sense. Abby and Tarak are happy with their baby Ami, but there’s a lot of cleanup and organization to do on Kithia. While Tarak is down on the planet, Abby becomes seriously sick and he rushes back to the Silence to find her looking like death. The Cordolian medics aren’t sure at first what’s happening until they narrow it down to a virulent virus she contracted when Tarak gave her nanites at Amis birth. Racing to save her, they must go back to the nightmare planet where Tarak was experimented on and changed, but he will do it for his Abby. Narration was perfection. Can’t wait for more books in the series!

Disappointed. Glad i bought it on sale.

I personally enjoyed most of this series, abut waited a long time to listen to this book. I had relistened to most of them before starting this one, but jeez i regret that. This book definitely had potential. It was so so repetitive though, extensibly over explaining things so it can be read as a stand alone. and honestly it was so annoying and boring hearing “random thoughts” from Abby that were unnecessarily drawling the story out.

Good ending and beginning

A good ending to this series and a good segue into the new series. Torin is mention frequently in this book who turns out to be one of the main characters in book one of the new series. I like HEA endings.

Third time with Abbey and Tarek

The dark planet is not finished with our alpha couple from the Kordolian world. A parting gift had been left with Abbey and she will have to battle it mostly on her own while her loving alpha head strong mate watch from the outside.

This was a direction I was not expecting or even considers. Now that makes me wonder will the same happen to Riana because she to have some of her mates nanites. Well that’s neither her nor there we are discussing Abbey and Tarek. Her battle takes us to the world that holds no pleasant memories for the division one warriors. And it also leads them first to the man that started it all.

It was an interesting read. It was where you would find some answers but at the same time I did not feel it was a necessary part to continue on with the Kordolian of Earth.

Dual narration allows for more interpretation and enjoyment.

A fast paced race against the clock to save Abbey

i love the story of Abbey And Tarak book #1, 3 and 8 tell the love story of alien general Tarak and earth Abbey. I love how Tarak puts his wife and child before himself . Abbey becomes sick and it's a race against the clock to save her. Tarak tells the medics if Abbey dies so do they.
