Valuable

Genuinely one of the most valuable books I have read or listened to in many years. Worked for me in the work place and in my social life. I feel I gained a greater appreciation of social skills, how to apply them, how to make them work for me.

Conversation Skills Guide. Podcast recommendation

Recommended by a podcast,...then recommend by a friend...then another friend...so finally got it ha!
A very good and most importantly UNIQUE guide to all things related to conversation and social skills.
I liked that the advice was new or at least had a very unique spin to it.
Recommended to me...and now I recommend to you.

Heard about this on a podcast - took a bit of a chance on it - VERY glad I did. More than happy to give this full marks.

VERY good!

Personally I loved this book and can see why it is mentioned by so many people. Loved the stuff about body language and I am already using a lot of the techniques to quite amazing effect!

Not A Good Use Of Time

Unfortunately this book did not actually provide meaningful how-to steps for improving people skills. If you want lengthy additions to your to-do lists, or if you've never thought about how you interact with people before, maybe this book is for you. If you want to improve on the moderately successful interactions you're actually enjoying, look elsewhere. Here's an example of a hypothesis (from elsewhere!) that leads to how-to steps to improvement: social intelligence/emotional intelligence consists of two skills: mindsight (perceiving what another person is feeling or deems important) and self-regulation. To improve mindsight, try books on body language, negotiation, or motivational interviewing. To improve self-regulation, try books on self-compassion, mindfulness, or rationality as contrasted with intelligence. I acknowledge I did not finish this audiobook.

Best conversation skills guide out there

Best conversation skills or social skills guide out there, it is as simple as that!

Nothing else comes close (and I have tried about 20 books like this...)

Nobody’s against the virtues

I returned that book (read 1/4 of it). As the title of this review says, nobody’s against virtues ...
I found the book’s idea too much dispersed. There were so many concepts. I felt the author gave me 6 to 8 concepts to applied per minutes like someone was reading me a grocery list ... all the components of the list made sense ... but I guess that I struggled with the “listing” kind of approach.

Not very deep into relationship building

I struggled with this one. It got more into listening skills picking up and delivering social ques than on how to build networks. Also very few real world tips were provided above what the typical person should already know.

Highly recommend

Excellent! I have learned a lot and have other points reaffirmed. I have recommended it to others and I will continue to. It would be great for school curriculums. Five star all the way! Overall, Performance and Story.

Took a chance

Saw this book mentioned in a youtube video and took a bit of a chance on it and im very grateful I did because it already helped me get thru (and really do well!) at a family wedding this weekend, something I was dreading as it was so full of people I didn't know. I was able to strike up conversations, hold small talk and really excel.

The best book I have got in years

What made the experience of listening to Conversation Skills: Master People Skills Through Emotional Intelligence, Conversation & Body Language the most enjoyable?

It was endlessly interesting but also very easy to follow

Who was your favorite character and why?

??

Any additional comments?

I found this a huge help with conversation and general social skills, which is something I had previously had major issues with. A truly valuable and fantastic book

One I really liked

First book in a while that I actually really liked. I can find some conversation / social situations quite difficult so this book was a welcome guide and gave me a lot of "tools" to help handle different situations.

Learning new (or forgotten) skills

Not only did I learn a heap of new stuff, I also got a good and clear reminder of skills and conversation tips I had forgotten from the past. A very valuable book I have already listened to twice now.

An excellent addition to my library

Any additional comments?

I personally found the entire book to be both interesting and enjoyable to listen to but my favourite parts were in relation to body language, both how to read it and how to control my own. I had no idea this would make such a collossal change to my interactions and confidence.

Wasn’t sure at first but ended up loving it

As i said in my headline, I wasn’t sure at first. I was a little diubious simply as I have tried similar books to this and i thought it might be the same thing again - but, by the time i got to the end, I am happy to say I was proven wrong! This is a very different book. Practical, easy to follow and valuable. I found it very very motivating which is what I needed.
