Publisher's Summary

Are you sure you are not being manipulated? Want to find out how to recognize it? Do you want to turn it around in your favor for persuading and influencing your relationships?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then keep reading...

Being able to recognize manipulative persons or techniques is very difficult. We live among manipulative persons without recognizing them. More often, you come back from work and feel drained of all your energy. Manipulation, persuasion, mind control, and subliminal messages are all aspects of people's behavior. Some are able to use those techniques, others are not. Therefore, you feel confused over those behaviors because you are not able to see what is going on. Some will even call you naïve or blue-eyed just because you believe in others easily.

By listening to this book, you will learn:

  • How to use manipulative techniques and defend yourself from others who use them
  • How to master persuasion and make it an art to influence people
  • How to protect yourself by analyzing the three different personalities of the dark triad
  • How to analyze subliminal messages in different forms of media and advertisement
  • How to master your emotions with step-by-step instructions to transform and manage your emotional state

There is so much that you will learn and be able to take with you as you continue on your life journey. You will learn the secret of becoming a master of influence. This book will give you plenty of examples and scenarios where you can recognize individuals that use traits of persuasion, manipulation, and influence in both a negative fashion and for personal gain.

Even if you have never known these topics, you now feel ready to master those secrets, recognize the manipulators, protect yourself, and use them in your favor.

Oh man, this is not for a regular reader

I'm just average human being who's done a fair amount of reading on self reflection. This book was just way over my head. Scientific words and so analytical and detailed .I could not follow. Also the reader was a bit monotonous but maybe that was just the content gurgling as it flowed past me?

Great Listen book

There are people who seem to have the gift of convincing others without having to work hard. They are able to ask for favors, to make sales, or to raise funds with apparent ease.

This is a must-listen audiobook, interesting and powerful knowledge about human predator behavior. Most people have no idea that this stuff is happening.

Great Audio book!

This book is fundamentally confusing! Love the models! It is a staggering quality. The pages are thick so nothing goes onto different pages. Thankful to the essayist for giving us such a brilliant audiobook

Very helpful and useful audio

Like the author, I have found myself on the "receiving end" of some of these weapons of compliance in both my personal and business lives. There is a thorough discussion of each of the six principles of persuasion, supported with illustrative real-life stories and objective research.

Highly recommended

Summarizes some very widely known (and other lesser known) psychological experiments on human behavior and influence in an easy-to-understand format that forces you to realize why you might make certain choices.

Nicely done!

The most shocking thing I learned from the audio book was how suicide rates show a predictable and consistent increase in local areas where a suicide story is published as a newspaper/media headline. Amazing yet terrifying study.

Clear and informative

The majority of sources refer to the United States and one wonders to what degree factors like pricing high are relevant in less affluent, or in today's highly connected digital society. The final page calling on consumers to revolt seemed an odd suffix to an otherwise well details audio book.
