Story
In a blink, I found myself in an unknown land, greeted by the textbox of an unfriendly system. It wanted me to become a great hero, save the world, win the love of the people and all that crap. But this new world already had a hero. Why should I bust my ass and deal with dragons and the unknown for people I didn't know? Let him deal with that. It's his job! So instead of being tempted by the system's nonsense, I chose a simple class. Potion maker. I wasn't interested in cultivating mana and defying the heavens, courting death, none of that crap.

Publisher's Summary
Morgan used to be a pretty normal guy. He went to college by day and played online games by night, leading his guild into new conquests - until he got hit by a car and a dude wearing a wet suit appeared in front of him. The man offered him a new chance at life in a world he had created, a world with similar rules to the games Morgan loved to play. There is the promise of great rewards and power, he says, if Morgan manages to complete the Tower of Power. Stupid name, I know.
Morgan didn't usually trust strangers who seem to have god complexes, but he was in a pinch. There's a crazy-looking dude saying he is technically not a god on one end of the tunnel and a blinding light on the other end - and he was really not digging the light.
So he accepted the offer from the surfer god-not-god.
Getting dropped into a strange new world with no idea what the rules are was not something Morgan was a fan of; and in this strange world, it seems like everything is out to eat his face. It was a good thing, then, that he stumbled onto two half-elf twins willing to help him get the hang of this strange new world.
Now, all he needs to do is survive long enough to reach this tower.

The narrator does a terrible job
The narrator ruines the book the way he reads the interactions between people, it doesn’t feel natural.

A fun romp through another world.
Though I enjoyed it overall , the writing could benefit from the use of a thesaurus while the narrator could spare some time to practice what he is reading. It seemed as though he didn't know what he was saying, like it was his first time reading it. This caused much of his emphasis and inflections to miss the mark and make him sound like an A.I.
With all its flaws I am still interested in finding out where the main character goes from here.

Main character needs an overhaul
The story by itself is actually quite good, almost enjoyable.
The main problem I find with this novel, is that the MC is too childish, almost brainless. He does and says the obviously weird and most annoying things almost every damn time.
The MC being a jackass also does not help the story to stand out when the narrator's voice is...well, a little too suitable to playing the role of a jackass (no offense, my dude). For a story with this kind of MC, something a little deeper or a narrator with more bass would curb the childishness of the MC, and make it feel a bit more presentable.
No offense to the "Plus Category", but I can see why the first 3 volumes of this novel fall into this category.
I am going to finish the first 3 "free" volumes. But, unless there is some kind of miracle, divine intervention, or just some major improvements, I probably won't be spending my money or credits on this book.
Conclusion: A potentially decent premise ruined by a terribly created main character, played by an equally suitable sounding narrator.

gotta get used to the narrator
The narrator pissed me off when he did those really weird and awkward whistles along with the "cool cool cool cool cool". aside from that, the story was really good and I enjoyed it so far.

Decent listen
As the other reviews have said, the narration could use some work, but it’s far from the worst I’ve heard. The story itself is refreshingly good, no harems, interesting characters. The MC is a bit basic but has good banter, kind of like a more laid back Jason Assano from he who fights with monsters. It’s not overly complicated but still has some complexity.

Throughly enjoyable
I’ve listened to this story twice now this year. It was very dramatic and epic. The battle scenes are spectacular and I love the silliness of Morgan. However the “cool cool cool cool” is annoying with the amount of times it it used. Love the job the narrator does

Engaging story
The storyline, characters and bits of social commentary are awesome! The writing could use some polish though. Well worth the listen and definitely a series I would love to see on my physical bookshelf.
