About this listen
“A unique voice on money, one singularly attuned to...his generation.” (San Francisco Chronicle)
Buy as many lattes as you want. Spend extravagantly on the things you love. Live your rich life instead of tracking every last expense with Ramit Sethi’s simple, powerful, and effective six-week program for gaining control over your finances.
This isn’t typical advice from a money expert. In this completely updated second edition, Ramit teaches you how to choose long-term investments and the right bank accounts. With his characteristic no-BS perspective, he shows how to squeeze every hidden benefit out of your credit cards. Crush debt and student loans. Learn the exact words to negotiate a raise. Set up an automatic payment system and get on with your life. Plus, new material on overcoming psychological barriers, love and money, new investments options, and real audience stories of how applying Ramit’s principles led to a rich life.
“Don’t let the breezy, irreverent style of this book fool you. It contains serious advice on personal-finance decisions, from budgeting and savings to spending and investing.” (Burton G. Malkiel, author of A Random Walk Down Wall Street)

We say some people march to the beat of a different drummer. But implicit in this cliché is that the rest of us march to the same beat. We sleepwalk through life, find ourselves on well-worn paths that were never ours to walk, and become a silent extra. Extraordinary people carve their own paths as leaders and creators. They think and act with genuine independence. They stand out from the crowd because they embody their own shape and color. We call these people geniuses—as if they’re another breed. But genius isn’t for a special few. It can be cultivated. This book will show you how.

Life Changing — even for a Canadian!
I heard the author speak on one of my favourite podcasts and immediately downloaded the Audible.
I come from a family that doesn't have great money habits. The extent of my investing knowledge comes from one personal finance course I took in university, and that's about it. This book made a very complicated world much easier to navigate. Even though the book is written for Americans, there are excellent takeaways for Canadians — you just have to do a little research.
I feel empowered about my financial future, have started taking the steps outlined and am thrilled to no longer be dependent on financial advisors. Thank you, Ramit!

I think this book might just be my favorite personal finance book. Feels like l've read absolutely everything I need to know about personal finance and intelligent investing after reading it. I obviously won't stop reading about these subjects now, but this book was so good that it truly makes me think
"why bother reading anything else now!?" Brilliant.
