Story
Jack is violently pulled into a game-like universe and dumped into a seaside town on the brink of destruction. When the people of Blackmoor Cove begin to ask about his combat role, Jack discovers his odd Hero Class and finds that parts of his game interface are riddled with exposed coding errors. He quickly learns that the only way the town can grow and push back the unknown substance threatening to consume it is if brave Heroes venture into an infinitely high, ever-changing tower, kill bizarre monsters for their equipment drops, and then deposit those items into a special chest.

The NPCs in one small corner of the map now seek their own path instead of remaining content with what they were born knowing. While some choose to look inward and explore themselves, others reach outward into new lands and untapped resources. However, many more mysterious corners remain where a cosmic infection that abhors such displays of self-consciousness still twists and writhes throughout Mother Sana.

His first task is to survive, but mere survival is the least of his concerns. The Zone he has landed on has been in a state of constant war for thousands of years, a tug of war between the Elven and Dwarven societies. Publisher's Summary
Climb the Tower. Feed the Town.
Blackmoor Cove has been pulled back from the edge of oblivion, but that doesn’t mean the fight is over. While the all-consuming Corruption pushes harder against their progress, Jack embraces his new responsibility to rebuild the broken people around him. However, none of it will last unless he enters the Tower every morning and defeats the vicious monsters within for their valuable loot drops.
With the Arcane Mage, Thymus, now in the party, they will climb higher than ever before, but will the 12 years of terrible isolation make the time-lost Hero unreliable when he once again confronts the unending nightmares found inside the Tower?
This “Crunchy” GameLIT/LitRPG story contains: item-based game mechanics, town building, countless unique monsters, boss fights, and cheaty special abilities.

Imaginative and no BS fun
This series lacks all the common tropes that I hate so much in a lot of books nowadays.
Finally there is
No weak male heroes that get humiliated nonstop by their female betters,
No sexual violence,
No woke BS,
No whining MC who constantly tells the reader how unfair everything is,
No nonstop worshiping and praising of US military,
No dumb idiot MC who wins because of completely undeserved luck ("the Land"... Yuck!) But an MC who actually uses his brain.
The whole world is extremely varied and it's never boring.
Note that this isn't a "thrill ride" by any means, but it's never bland or dull.
5 stars
It is not as good as Towers of Heaven series, the Gam3 series, Ritualist & Regicide by Dakota Krout or Shadowsun survival series. But what is. Dante's Immortality is a must read too, but it's just 1 book atm.
If you are a fan of litrpg/ gamelit/ Isekai then this is for you
Or if you just like fantasy or scifi with a twist.

Eh..
The concept of the story is fine, it's just the execution gets more and more silly.. it's like the author gave up on a game world and just pulled whatever lint came out of his pockets and said "eh, fight this next round".

Cringe-level relationships...
I got this book (even though the first book was awkward and underwhelming) for lack of anything better to listen to.
The author is fairly imaginative with his dungeon scenarios, but by making his game world a generic rogue-like, he's ultimately still writing a repetitive, unengaging story. The characters enter the tower and fight things, exit the tower and then talk about what they just did in the tower (or what they're *intend* to do when they go back in), then everything repeats. This happens over and over again, all the way through the book. If this is what you're looking for, I recommend you just GO PLAY AN ACTUAL ROGUE-LIKE! I guarantee that you can close your eyes scroll through a list of this type of game on Steam, put your finger to your laptop screen, and whatever game you purchase by this method will be better thought out and more fulfilling than this book. Also, let it be noted that I generally hate rogue-likes, and have found (with a few exceptions) that games in virtually any other genre are more lovingly and properly made, and more enjoyable. Rogue-like = randomly-generated, copy-paste experiences.
Second, if Prax Venter is married or in a relationship, I don't know how. It doesn't show in his writing. Jack (or the narrator) refers to Lex as "my love" or "the love of his life" nearly every single time the action or dialogue has anything to do with her. Sometimes Venter switches to calling her things like "the beautiful blonde bastion" (just to mix things up, you understand). The reader is constantly (and I do mean *constantly*) *told* when characters are in a relationship, in the most awkward, unbelievable ways.
If you want a LitRPG audiobook series that's actually good, so far I've only found two examples:
The Completionist Chronicles series by Dakota Krout (mostly really good, though the author wears his politics on his sleeve, and seems to have a weird man-crush on Elon Musk that comes up on rare occasions), and The Stonehaven League books by Carrie Summers (passably good, though characters in those books seem to have no problem continuing to use technology capable of directly attacking their brains).
If you haven't checked out those series yet, I promise you that they are objectively better than this one.

It keeps getting better!
Great story and Narration!
Jack is back and shaking things up! New friends and stronger enemies await! The battle against the corruption continues, and it will take Jack and his teams best to stand up to that vile filth!
Soundbooth does an exceptional job with their narration!
Great world and game mechanics! If you liked the first one, then you will love this one too!

SBT delivers a multi cast LITRPG Masterpiece
This 2nd installment of the Irrelevant Jack series delivers more great tower climbing, awesome spells, cool gear, crunchy stats, cool battles, city building. It’s just such a great all around series and the multi narrator cast delivers an audio dram feel to it. If you haven’t checked o it this series or SBT now is the time to start (they also have a great app for their productions) I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Excellent book/series
This is a review for the first three books (I finished them all in 2 days). This is a fantastic series. I was a little skeptical after the opening of the first book, but by the 3rd chapter I was hooked. The concept is interesting, the system is fascinating, the characters are fleshed out (but not to the point of knowing too much), the combat feels real, and the creativeness of the author is unreal. I highly recommend these books and am waiting impatiently for the next one.
