Publisher's Summary

What lies beyond Blackmoor Cove and its connected Tower?

When two displaced Heroes from the recently fallen Town of Emberstone seek refuge from the advancing corruption, some people begin to believe that Jack’s brazen defiance of traditional ways has terrible consequences.

New Buildings, new Townsfolk, and new Heroes bring new opportunities for everyone, and as Jack continues pushing them forward, the virtual entities around him begin to explore the limits of Subroutine Sana.

This “Crunchy” GameLIT/LitRPG story contains: Item-Based character growth, empire building, unique monsters, bizarre boss fights, and the abuse of game mechanics.

Kind of fun .. look forward to more

I liked the story.
The narration specifly the female roles were getting boring .. "I am amazed today , yesterday and last week .. Jack you never cease to amaze me but I will say the same thing tomorrow and the day after that".
I guess I have to blame the author and not the narrator but the way the words were spoken every chapter over 3 books got on my nerves.

WOW!

What is there to say but this book was amazing it is definitely the best book in the series so far and I can't wait until the next book. The progression in the book is superb and I thoroughly enjoyed the part where I was on the edge of my seat and thinking something was going to happen and I was ready to curse the world then it was fine it had my nerves fraying at the edges don't get me wrong I loved it I'm glad the book wasn't predictable. as a side note the narration cast absolutely did a simply phenomenal job as the books progress the narration cast gets better and better all the way around this book is a must-read.

Review of books 2-4

If these books went off a typical Stat setup then the MC would have a 10 Charisma and a 0 in Intelligence. Alot of these books are filler and we're lucky to have a chapter without some ego stroking conversation. It's also still the same premise of taking everyone that's not the MC and forcing them to conform to the authors narrow-minded view on how people should be (the poor sun striker in book 4 gets bullied into conforming even). At this point audible has a few good and several decent litrpgs unlike when this first came out. If you're new to the genre and found the first book to be as cringe inducing as I did you should look elsewhere than this series.

Stellar audio performance though.

a breath of fresh air

This entire series has been fantastic. Both the quality of production and the recording, and the writing itself.

Excellent book/series

This is a review for the first three books (I finished them all in 2 days). This is a fantastic series. I was a little skeptical after the opening of the first book, but by the 3rd chapter I was hooked. The concept is interesting, the system is fascinating, the characters are fleshed out (but not to the point of knowing too much), the combat feels real, and the creativeness of the author is unreal. I highly recommend these books and am waiting impatiently for the next one.

brilliant!!

wow! it has been so long since actual characger growth and organic relationships develop! the MC started out head strong and hated being told he was reckless but grew up to actually learn to think! so great!!

I like the story

The story and mechanics are great. I only wish they spent less time being amazed by everything, and too much time spent telling the main character how great and wonderful everything he does is.

Prax does it again

as usual the author has created a story with perfect symmetry and connective tissue. there are no unearned plot devices nothing has been done for the sake of storytelling. when something happens to the characters it's because of an action the characters have taken that have affected the world and that feels great. nothing randomly happens by accident. enjoy all of Prax Venter's work is a pleasure to listen to
