In his 17 years as a Formula 1 driver, Jenson Button has picked up a thing or two about how to do the job properly. Sure, you need to be able to drive a car fast - and Jenson is on hand to pass on a few tricks of the trade here - but you also need to know the real rules for making it to the top. Like, how to tell a multiple F1 champion they need to check their blind spot. What the difference is between a helmet and a hat, and indeed a 'helmet-hat'. Publisher's Summary
The full-length, in-depth and intimate autobiography from Jenson Button, one of Britain's greatest ever racing drivers.
Jenson Button is one of the finest racing drivers of his generation. His 17 years in Formula One have seen him experience everything the sport has to offer, from nursing duff cars round the track to winning world championships and everything in between. Here, Jenson tells his full story for the first time in his own honest, intelligent and eloquent style - from growing up as part of a motor-racing-mad family under the guidance of his father, John, to arriving at Williams as a fresh-faced 20-year-old to being written off as a playboy, distracted by the luxurious trappings of his lifestyle, and his fight back to the very pinnacle of his sport.
Jenson's world championship victory for the unsponsored and unfancied Brawn GP team is one of the most extraordinary against-the-odds sports stories of the century. Jenson's book lifts the lid on the gilded and often hidden world of Formula One. He reveals his relationships with some of the biggest names in the sport - Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso - as well some of the most colourful characters, such as Bernie Ecclestone, Ron Dennis, Frank Williams and serial winner Ross Brawn.
Above all he puts you right inside the cockpit, in the driving seat, travelling at over 200 miles per hour, battling the fear of death, showing you what happens when it goes wrong at high speed and allowing you to experience the euphoria of crossing the line first.

some good insights into the lifestyle of an f1 driver and the struggles he went through to get there. I found recapping individual races every season a bit tiresome no matter how brief they were

Somewhat entertaining
I don't follow the formula 1 racing world so it probably wasn't a wise decision for me to buy. I found the story timeline a bit broken but he certainly has had an interesting life.

Absolutely Amazing
I'm not a Jenson Button's fan. I bought this audiobook because I'm a F1 fan and I was expecting the best memories of a World Champion. Jenson, you transported me into every Gran Prix. I felt that I was there. Thanks for writing this piece of art.
Congratulations!

Excellent
A fantastic and candid autobiography by one of the best and classiest F1 Champions. JB's story includes his childhood, introduction to racing and path to F1, his racecraft and the technical side of racing, the teams and teammates he raced with each season, the close relationship he had with his father, and much more. A must-read for all race fans.

Puts things into perspective
A great book. It was especially good hearing about F1 from the point of view of a driver. Jenson writes from the heart and had me in tears at one stage. A great driver and a great writer.

Fantastic autobiography. Great narration
A must listen for any pro sports fan and especially anyone interested in F1. If there was just one criticism it got a little repetitive in some chapters with statistics, but that’s nitpicking.

Scratches the F1 Itch
A fun, easy-listening journey through the life of an F1 driver. Every bit as entertaining as an episode of Drive to Survive with a great cameos and history for newer fans like myself. It feels honest and light-hearted. It is stands as a great tribute to the people in Jensen’s life.

Insightful and entertaining
If you’re a fan of F1 or maybe just curious about it, Jenson story gives you a lovely peek into the paddock and life of a formula one driver.
My absolute favorite part of the story was hearing how Jenson worked through learning to get the most out of a “bad car” and use more than his natural talent for driving to score points for him and the team.
I’ve watched F1 with my husband since it became possible to watch it live in the US and have gone back and rewatched a lot of past races or full seasons. F1 is my favorite sport and learning Jenson’s story has made rewatching his past races even more fun.
The narrator was engaging and added the right amount of humor needed when Jenson chastised himself or recounted a story. It is quite odd though having listened to this book to then listen to Jenson in real life, since Jenson did not read his own story. I guess Jack’s voice is how I expect Jenson to sound and it takes me a minute to realize he won’t.
I highly recommend this story and performance.

Borefest
It’s been awhile since I stopped listening midway to a book and said naw I’ve had enough. Don’t suggest, boring, jumps around, uneventful or interesting.

The most annoying Brit yet.
So this wordy Brit over analyzes his mediocre career. Whats with the Brits that hate Kimi? Not one of them is as interesting. Just BS understating.
