Only Part Of The Movie ☹️

Half of this audiobook is T'Challa coming into his own as the king of Wakanda - pursuing Ulysses Klaue to prove his worthiness (Killmonger makes a brief appearance).
The final hour of the recording is a confrontation between Black Panther and followers of Baron Helmut Zemo (after the events of 'Captain America: Civil War').
The writing is decent.. and the action is well-described.. but I was hoping for a more faithful novelization of the cinematic presentation. This book doesn't provide that. Unfortunately, it doesn't really provide standalone 'Black Panther' stories, either. If you haven't seen the films, you will struggle to visualize what's going on in these excerpts/riffs.

Marvel/Disney Audio further disappoints listeners by directing reader Ike Amadi to read with a painfully affected "African" accent. Amadi's performance is professional - backed up by creditable technical support - but that accent is groanworthy.

Altogether, spend your money on a different Marvel offering, if that's what you're looking for. This 3.5/10-star recording isn't worth the effort.

[Incidentally: the sheer Chutzpah that it takes to write the line: "The Black Panther rolled his eyes.." like we can see the facial expressions on his mask.. Wow, Jim McCann. Wow.]
