Publisher's Summary

This Master ADHD sleep learning program was designed to assist the listener in gaining self-thoughts related to focus, concentration, and follow-through.

Some say that we are the sum total of what we surround ourselves with. For example:

  • What we choose to watch on television
  • What we listen to on the radio
  • Who we choose to surround ourselves with
  • Even the thoughts we think

All of the above affect our overall perceptions and thought patterns. Just like the foods that we eat create our bodies over time, our thoughts shape who we are and ultimately what types of situations we manifest in our lives.

Sleep learning can benefit a listener in powerful ways. The mind stays active even while we are sleeping. For example a mother may sleep soundly through thunderstorms and barking dogs, yet the sound of her baby stirring in the next room will often instantly awaken her. Why not use this time (while you are asleep) to realize your potential?

In addition to therapeutic hypnotic techniques and meditative affirmations, this program is further enhanced by the use of brainwave entrainment such as solfeggio tones, isochronic tones, bilateral stimulation, and white noise. Listening at a very low volume while drifting off to sleep is ideal and won't diminish your results.

Narrated by Anna Thompson, MA, MHP, LMHC, advanced clinical hypnotherapist.

Accomplish your goals and create the life you've always wanted starting today.

Condescending & useless, but in the softest tone.

This is a drifty jumble of "positive affirmations" spoken in a soothing voice, over a mellow soundscape of ambient sounds and... a pan flute? Yes, pan flute! Exactly like the soundtrack to a yoga class on VHS. (Don't ask how I know that.) I can't tell if this recording was inspired by hubris or ignorance, but it's bad. The notion that a person with ADHD "just needs to learn how to focus" is hopelessly outdated and unhelpful, and that's the basis of the "affirmations" in this recording.

These so-called affirmations are mostly useless for their intended audience. It's like the script was written by someone who heard about ADHD in the 80s, and still thinks that ADHD is merely a failure of morals/discipline/attitude, instead of a complex neurophysiological disability. No, you can't "master" ADHD by listening to dreamy wishful statements like "I will focus on the important things today" and "I effectively and easily manage details." That's like trying to "cure" colourblindness with affirmations of "Today, I will see red and green as separate colours," or treating diabetes with affirmations of "I can feel my pancreas effortlessly producing enough insulin." It's NOT helpful. In fact, it's offensively patronizing. For anyone with ADHD, these "affirmations" will read as annoying and ignorant. It's like getting labelled lazy and undisciplined, or being told to "just get a day planner."

There are a few nice phrases on self-acceptance and feeling unconditionally loved. The narrator's voice is soft and relaxing, and the ambient sounds are pleasant. But it's offensive to suggest that a neurophysiological disability can be "mastered" by listening to a bunch of trite positive affirmations while you sleep.
