Publisher's Summary

There are three things you should know about Quinn Sullivan:

1) He is madly in love with Janie Morris

2) He's not above playing dirty to get what (or who) he wants

3) He doesn't know how to knit.

After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn - former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat - is ready to propose marriage. In fact he's more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day - thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of prematrimony: engagement; meeting the parents; bachelor/bachelorette party; and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions. But Janie, much to Quinn's dismay, tosses a wrench in his efficacious endeavors and challenges him to prove his devotion by going through the matrimonial motions, no matter how minute and mundane.

Will Quinn last until the wedding day? Or will he yield to his tyrant impulses?

Regardless, one thing is for certain: Quinn Sullivan will have to learn to expect the Spanish Inquisition (i.e., the unexpected) if he plans to have and keep Janie Morris as his wife.

You must listen to Neanderthal Seeks Human first before listening to this book.

This book is written in first person with alternating POVs (Janie Morris and Quinn Sullivan, but more Janie than Quinn).

I love this

The charaters are great, I loved how silly the main charater is but I also love how her husband loves her and listens to her. I wanted more of these charaters. They have more to tell. I want to know what else they are up to.

Another Home Run

Another great book. I just love Jennifer Grace’s narration. While I could have done without Sebastian York (who I have enjoyed in other books) he was still good. I think my issue with it is that the first book in the series was done by Jennifer alone. When I first started this book I thought it was going to be solely from Quinn’s point of view hence the second narrator but it isn’t it goes back and forth.

The story itself was still fantastic and I listened to the book over just a couple of days I was so in to it I didn’t want to put it down. It was laugh out loud funny in so many parts.

If you’re a lover of Rom Com / Chick Lit this book is a winner. Looking forward to continuing on through this series with the stories of the other ladies in the knitting group.

Nah….

I hate to be too critical of people but the female narrator was difficult to listen it. It made an already dull story much duller ..
loved Penny Reid’s Winston brother series but this one didn’t cut it at all

Well put together story, full of sarcastic witt

between this one and the immediate predecessor, the story of Jainey and Quinn comes together with a heartwarming happily for now ending and made me feel warm and fuzzy at several points. While the narrative flowed well the Narrator was easy to listen to and was easily understandable. well done overall

Fluff

I found this to be lacking any type of story line. And the voice used to portray the feminine lead I found to totally grate on my nerves.

OMG Even Funnier Than Book 1

If you enjoyed Janie in Book 1, you'll love this second part of the story. I especially appreciated that we got some of Quinn's POV in this one!

Fun playful series

This series is quirky and fun with a lot of romance and a dash of spice. Following the friends and seeing the eave of the stories throughout the series is interesting and helps you bond with the characters.

My only challenge is that these books, like most, are read in US English, which has me correcting the narrators regularly.

Could not get into this one

I downloaded this one because of the 4.5 rating. This book just did not grab me. I listened to chapter two and it was list paint drying. The female narrator didn't help. There was no realness or warmth in her voice. This book was just not for me.

It was ok

I listened to the first book and enjoyed it even though the main character Janie was annoying... however, this book could have been cut in half or even the outcome of the book could have been put in the last book... it dragged a lot and I mean a lot! I fell asleep and woke up and they were still on the same subject of Janie talking...it didn’t start picking up until they were in Vegas that caught some of my interest back. This is making me trying to figure out if I want to continue. I do enjoy some of the other characters and wanting to learn more but hoping it won’t drag the story so much. I am debating with myself if I want to commit to it.

Neanderthal Marries Human

Janie and Quinn

I remember loving their story, so when I noticed this book was on audible but not really wanting to start the books all over again I figured why not just jump in I am sure I will catch up and I did. It’s the same great characters I know and love. It was a bonus getting to see them happy and in love getting married.

I love how logical Janie is and how her brain just works in this unique way. Quinn is just as quirky and I love how well they fit.

Great book, and the narration was perfect for them.

Any additional comments?

Super cute first 2 books...I may continue after the beginning of the year...and i am definitely going to listen to the Beard books too...Oh Janie is wonderfully brilliant and mentally exhausting too!! Nope!

This is probably the worst book I've read/listened to. The main character is horribly annoying. She's dumb, and insecure and completely unreliable. Her fiance is borderline abusive. I hated this book and am completely turned off by this author.

A Wedding to End All Weddings

Where does Neanderthal Marries Human: A Smarter Romance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best.

What did you like best about this story?

Janie and Quinn's humors relationship just keeps getting stronger.

What about Jennifer Grace and Sebastian York ’s performance did you like?

LOVED Jennifer Grace. She's so expressive with the perfect degree of kookiness that's perfect for Janie. Sebastian York is also well cast.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed my way through this book.

Any additional comments?

If I was forced to find one flaw, it might be that the book is a tad on the long side. However, every chapter adds a great deal to the story, and I was never bored. I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d like to make a toast to Penny Reid for gracing us with her creativity and fantastic sense of humor.

ok

For its genre it's a good book, if not some what boring. It finishes off some dangling plots from the first book and creates more for further books.

Better than the first

I personally thought this was better than the first book due to it being more realistic. The first book has this confusing twist that isn’t properly set into place. It bothered me how it had drama only at the end and it was completely uncalled for. This one did not have such twists. It was a positive story that spoke of the troubles of engagements and marriage. It spoke of family and the trials we all go through. It gave me a more positive outlook on marriage and family. It also had me chuckling quite a few times, and I’m not easy to make laugh!
