Publisher's Summary

Nicholas Herman (c. 1605-1691) was born in Lorraine, France and served as a cook and shoe repairer at a Carmelite monastery. He was only a lay member of the order, and walked with a limp from injuries incurred as a soldier, yet his private thoughts provide a wellspring of devotional insight and refreshment.

Simple enough to revolve your life around.

Brother Lawrence's humble proposition of non-stop affections to God through the simple attention of our mind is confoundingly easy to understand, and yet it is God's grace that would help us to apply it.

A highly recommendable read for anyone who wants to know and see God more in their life.

To have this kind of intimacy with God

This book is a great resource to highlight intimacy with Christ. We can all learn from the monastic lifestyle and self forgetfulness of Brother Lawrence.
