Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. Story
Noah didn’t expect much from entering the virtual reality world of Asgard’s Fall. Even the danger of the experimental full immersion technology didn’t put him off. It beat living in a nursing home, and it was supposed to let him feel young again...at least until modern medicine and his body gave out. But there was something wrong with Asgard’s Fall. Most of the time, the “gods” running the game didn’t act like AIs were supposed to. Some of the players took things too seriously, like they knew something about the game that Noah didn’t.

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Overall great story!
My only negative is the writing could be better and often over explains things, but the world L.M. Kerr created is great and will keep me coming back! looking forward to book 3.

Wow!!
My eyes flashed as I noticed this audiobook. I had really liked the first, so my eyes flashed with excitement as I saw that there was a second. Even better, it was a chunker compared to the first! My eyes flashed with regret as I saw the time ticking down. I did not want this book to end. My eyes flashed with sadness as it ended, but I found the overall experience very enjoyable. My eyes flash with anticipation as I eagerly await the next installment.

not great but not bad
well, I like the story, the narrator, and the writing. thing is, event though the writing is quality.... well the author took and ENTIRE CHAPTER to describe one fight sequence. when you are going thru a right sequence, it's an action movie. you want fast paced. you want a hot, instense, heart pounding story. you don't want a time jump to explain how he did something. that's okay... if you didn't change character views twice and retell everything that just happened from another point of view. so tldr, good story, bad flow at times.

Amazing listen from beginning to end
Story is rich and very immersive, narrator does a factastic job, can't wait for the saga to continue.
The MC is strong but not invincible relying on his wits and knowledge to gain an advantage, If you like isekai and fantasy but want something more serious than a typical hero harem, give this book series a try; I'm certain you will enjoy it.

Interesting Story, Horrid Writing
All I can say is that I am incredibly disappointed in the waste of potential exemplified by this series.
The narrator performed the story with truly heroic professionalism despite the absolute dreck that is the source material, and it really does pain me to call it dreck; the concepts the author explored and world they built are genuinely interesting. In the end, they alone are what kept me listening through nearly 40 hours of performance.
The only glaring shortcoming of the series as of this volume, and the one which is unforgivably damning, is the writing. Though, perhaps there are more and the writing was simply poor enough to mask them.
As such, do not pick this up if you read above a 6th grade level.
I have read more competently written fanfiction produced by Jr. High School students.
If you removed all the gratuitous multi-adjective description, pointless over/re- explanation of events and concepts explicit in dialogue and action, and self-indulgent, preening external monologue, the remaining content would probably produce 6 hours of narration. That wasted time could have been spent on strong description, wordbuilding, and relationship-focused dialogue. Instead the characters interact as if they've only ever had the concepts of friendship and community described to them over the phone by someone who learned about them from old martial arts movies.
Finally, if I ever hear another "Slightly," "Somewhat," or "Mildly," I may have a coronary. L. M. Kerr, WRITE WITH A LITTLE CONVICTION. You are allowed to have a character express an opinion, state the result of an action, or describe a trait without having to deminish it. I swear, it's like you wrote this with someone behind you who beat you every time you expressed anything but a suggestion.
I was glad to read via the author's Facebook page that the Kerr is taking time to "Re-work" volume 3 before releasing volume 4. Perhaps some of these issues will be resolved. Either way, I will not be giving this series a third chance.

performance is fantastic!
narrator while a little weak with the some of the voices, did a fantastic job with every other character and had different tones. attitude and accent. made distinguishing between the many characters, narration parts easily distinguishable.
onto the content and book itself.
this is a LITRPG so expect stats, numbers, etc. it's not to everyone's tastes. also the author does explain things multiple times throughout the book which can be a bit annoying but sounds like he was trying to do a introduction to people who may not have read/listened to litrpgs or many fantasy books before. story is well done and excited for the next one.
