If You Are In B2B Sales & You Can Only Buy 1 Sales Book This Year; This the 1 You Should Buy!

I just finished Mike Weinberg’s new book #SalesTruth. I laughed and I cried all the time learning. I must say that I thought Mike lost his ever loving mind when he did a sales Coaching Analysis of the 2016 Presidential Race. His observations drive home more than a few Sales Truths we all need to be aware of.

Mike is the Dean of Bluntness. At times his book is brutal. Mike Loves selling and you can feel his passion throughout the book. Mike exposes the charlatans of easy sales for the phonies they are. But he doesn’t stop there. He shines a bright light on what we as salespeople need to stop doing in order to have the time to do what we should be doing. With warmth, humor and an occasional kick in the butt Mike takes us through mindset, strategic targeting and everything we need to become opportunity creators.

My action plan isn’t complete yet but I am definitely pulling back from some of my farming activities to create more time for my first love hunting. Thanks for the boot in my butt Mike! I needed it.

I especially enjoyed Chapter 15 Two Extraordinary Sales Professionals’ Not-So-Extraordinary Keys to Success. It’s consistent with my observations of top producers for the past 36 years. What is written on page 211 could be worth literally millions of dollars for the few that have the judgement and ability to execute it.

Great book on the fundamentals of sales

This is a rare book that reminds us of the basics and how to kick them up to the next level, without all the hype of secrets and gimmicks. Sales Truth is going to be an annual read for me.

The #SalesTruth Rocks!

Mike Weinberg holds nothing back and speaks the #salestruth. This is another great book by Mike and needs to be read by all in sales.

REAL sales training from a QUALIFIED sales leader — you need to read this!


If posts longer than a tweet fall into "TL;DR" for you, buy this book because it's insightful, beautifully written, and full of solid advice
for sales leaders.

This book is what sits in the shared space of the Venn diagram of political science, communications/messaging, and sales.

If you're still with me, I want you to know how fantastic this book is ... for someone who had a nice, decade+ career in political consulting before moving to the financial world, this book is of what dreams are made.

Mike Weinberg takes his vast success and experience in sales - from actual "doing" as opposed to the self-appointed grandeur of social media "influencers" - and throws it in a blender with the 2016 Presidential election. It's so. Damn. Good.

I tell people constantly that selling something that doesn't have a mouth and opinions is exponentially easier than selling the whole package of a candidate - behavior, appearance, bouts of word vomit, accidental social media posts, and rants that failed to grace the eyeballs of someone on the team with editing and general communications expertise.

But, selling candidates and widgets are the same in that there must be a real process, a strict schedule, and someone MUST pick up the phone whether it's to solicit a campaign contribution or a purchase from a obsessively-managed key donor/prospect list.

I've always been grateful that there are multiple political parties and that people espouse wildly different opinions. Without discourse and variation, we'd be one boring, homogeneous population ... and I would have been cash-flow poor in college.

Now I'm grateful that the information in this book can keep people from being cash-flow poor in sales careers.

I'd vote Weinberg for President in 2024.

This Book May Have Just Saved Sales

If you are young and just got into sales buy this book. If you have been in the game a long time buy this book. If you run a company who employees professional sales people buy this book. Anyone at all who in some way touches sales needs to hear the real truth about sales and selling. There has been a lot of false information from unqualified "experts" the last few years mostly based on technology and social selling changing the game. This book takes you through several common sense and practical examples of why those ideas and people are 100% wrong. #Salestruth is the myth busters of the sales world.
