Cheesy but ok

I was really excited to read this book, but I would just say it was OK. I don’t know if it was the narration, the writing, or a combination of both, but it came off cheesy to me. I also found the language to be a little forced. The word akimbo used about 3 to 4 times in the book was a little funny to me lol I’m also really not a fan of one adults use baby voices for children’s dialogue. The story overall was OK, I don’t think it was too tricky to figure out what was happening. I would potentially borrow a book by this author from the library, or read a free, audible title by her, but I’m not sure I would purchase another.

Didn’t know what to expect

I honestly didn’t really know what to expect when starting this book. Totally was not what I was expecting. It was okay but it felt very rushed. It definitely had potential but I wouldn’t say stellar.

Good read!

Good read though the ending/reason for events was a bit far fetched. Otherwise good book.

Very interesting concept

The idea of this book was interesting and relevant. Ethics, the fact all people need to know where they come from and it’s not up to the parents or others to decide about the truth for children….along with how much genetics decide what sort of human you are. It was a bit rushed and could have been developed more. Good book, not great. Narrator was a bit dull and voicing all males in the same dead type voices don’t work for me….can’t there be a few voice actors?

great storyline

Beautifully written story, very suspenseful and well woven plots involving each character.

The different character lives, emotions and dark secrets make each chapter a completing plot twist.

The narration was beautifully done and brought each character with love and enthusiasm.

Surprisingly amazing!

I say surprising because I'm not normally into these kind of books, I'm more into military or si-fi. But this book is suspenseful and highly entertaining!

The A storyline is intriguing and very interesting, but the B storyline which, at first, seems irrelevant to the main story ends up tying everything together perfectly.

Only thing that could make this better is if Vin Diesel say "Family" at the end of the book.

So So locked room murder mystery

Firstly, I found the narrator to be frustrating. If I had listened to the sample before purchase I probably wouldn’t have gone with this book. I found myself confused at times. Didn’t love this story.

Normally I don’t write bad reviews

This was one of the worst books I have ever read on this app. I don’t usually write bad reviews but this book was so hard to force myself to listen to. Not only did it bounce between what year it was but also what character and some of the characters didn’t even have any sort of connection to each other until the end so the reader is left listening to two completely different situations. Also the narrator was so pitchy when talking as a child’s character she sounded like Elmo on helium or something. I am hoping I’m able to return this book and I will never read another book from the author again if they’re anything like this one.
