Publisher's Summary

Step on a Crack: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

NYPD Detective Michael Bennett is about to take on the most sinister challenge of his career. The nation has fallen into mourning after the unexpected death of a beloved former first lady, and the most powerful people in the world gather in New York for her funeral. Then the inconceivable occurs. Billionaires, politicians, and superstars of every kind are suddenly trapped within one man's brilliant and cold-blooded scenario.

Bennett, father of 10, is pulled into the fray. As the danger escalates, he is hit with devastating news: After fighting for many years, his wife has succumbed to a terrible disease. As New York descends into chaos, he has lost the great love of his life, faces raising his heartbroken children alone, and must somehow rescue 34 hostages.

Day after day Bennett confronts the most ruthless man he has ever dealt with, a man who kills without hesitation and counters everything the NYPD and FBI throw at him with impunity. As the entire world watches and the tensions build to a searing heat, Bennett has to find a way out or face responsibility for the greatest debacle in history.

GREAT story!!!!

I rarely write full reviews. The only reason I am now is to tell you the music with this story was SO DISTRACTING! I loved the story and the performance and even the sound effects. But several times the music didnt match the scene.

Audio glitches

Although I really enjoyed the story, there were three places where the audio malfunctioned. Near the beginning, near chapter 33ish and during the last couple of minutes.
It didn’t ruin the book but I thought it was worth mentioning

Super Good Read!

I like Michael Bennett, his family and the story. The story line is well developed and thought out. The narrator's voice is well modulated and easy to listen to.

Excellent Narration - great plot line.

Keeps you at the edge of your seat. not really predictable.

only complaint i have is the sad side-story of Bennet's dying wife and his slightly over the top 10 adopted children.. doesnt add much to the main plot line and was a just a distraction and if you could completely remove that from the book, it would actually make the book better..

Booktrack Edition just adds noice

Please just read the book. I am returning this version. I had to buy both versions to understand the difference. This version is just pain in the ears. I am keeping the other version, it has the same narration without the noice.

Not what I expected (in a bad way).

The beginning of the book was captivating...I found myself anticipating what would happen next. By the middle of the book I was falling asleep. I would not recommend this book to anyone, especially if they had to pay for it.
