Publisher's Summary
Don’t miss this stunning debut rom-com that asks: Is love enough to win over a stone-cold heartbreaker?
Zelda Reynolds has a secret identity as “The Break-Up Artist,” the infamous ender of relationships. Don’t want to end your relationship yourself? Just tell Zelda through her website and she’ll get the job done like a pro. Her online business isn’t paying the bills yet, but at least it’s an escape from her real life, where her boss steals her best ideas, her dates are all duds, and her dad just married someone her own age.
When Zelda starts falling for the recipient of one of her snarkiest letters yet—a guy who is challenging her to let go of past hurts and reach for her dreams—will she have the courage to tell him the truth? Or will her undercover identity as the breaker of hearts come back to haunt her?

Great Story!
Read negative reviews and glad I dismissed them! There were clever elements in this story with refreshing honest reactions to relatable situations. Written with subtle, sometimes snarky, humor and loved that! The love story was cute but less interesting then the interactions between the rest of the side characters. Found it refreshing to have flawed characters who stumble through change instead of the often written 'perfect' beautiful main characters who fall into lame misunderstandings.

Awful
The FMC was immature and insufferable and I hated being in her head. Side plots were also 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Awful
Made it about halfway through before I had to give up.
Zelda is immature, selfish, and most egregiously BORING. I couldn't stand being in her head.
I hated both main plots. It was exhausting to constantly hear the same things over and over about her mother. Yeah we get it. You're sad.
But the moment I knew I had to stop was when we first meet her dad and he tells is daughters that the reason why he had to get married so quickly and erase his dead wife from his entire life (something the reader was being led to be sympathetic about???) Was because he "doesn't do well alone" and he needed a stand in for his two young daughters to fulfill his needs.
GROSS.
The only good thing about this book is the truthful and thought provoking representation of a wheelchair user in work and dating life. It's too bad the character herself was such a terrible person

Predictable storyline and mediocre narration
Nicely light hearted. Narrator took away from the story line with giving high-school voices and expressions to characters.

Performance was lovely but…
I finished this book just to give it a fair and honest review. I chose this in hopes of finding a nice summer day read. It is too angst- ridden and preachy for a romance novel. I love the sense of inclusivity and having a badass heroine. However, it became the whole arc of the conversations such that the relationship build-up became an afterthought. The supporting characters totally suffered for this.

M9dern, Funny but preachy
There was an abundance to like in the book First and foremost it is funny. Also, it had a fresh take on a love story (wheelchair bond woman dealing wirh career, dating and family is not usually the FMC, so yay)... but that is also what made me dislike it. It took a look at social norms and attempts to enlighten the reader. Unfortunately, at times I felt that I was being smashed over the head with a iron skillet to agree with the author's POV and not just see it from a different perspective.
The writing was excellent but I couldn't get past the 40 something widower dating only 6 months after his wife's sudden death. Sleeping with the women in from of his teenage daughters, then marrying & moving this 23 y/o new wife (1/2 his age) into his home that he still shared with his children less than a year after burying his wife! And we ate supposed to empathize with him? Really? He removes all traces of their mother from the home then shaming his children because they can't accept the new arrangement giving them a take it or leave it option. Nope, he was in the wrong... period! What kind of parent does that, a SELFISH ONE. So yeah, that being sprinkled in with all the other PC subjects just ruined the full enjoyment I got.
Though I trudged through the entire book I felt I was being scolded over and over like a puppy who didn't know better than to piddle on someone else's rug. Sheesh!
While it won't go down as one of MY favorites I can see it being embraced by many as it is LGBTQ friendly and approaches the disability issue that everyone else feels uncomfortable to talk about in an open honest way. (That part was my favorite, seeing Zelda as a normal gal who jus5 happens to have a wheelchair as an extension of herself rather than a working pair of legs).
Narration was terrific which definitely added to the positive vibe.

What a fun book!!!
This story was so fun! Hot, clever, playful, satisfying — and all through a POV, we rarely get to see — a woman who uses a wheelchair. I loved that Zelda’s chair provided a texture to her world, but wasn’t the plot of the story. I can’t wait for the next one!

Loved every minute of it!
This book was the perfect blend of witty humor, smart romance, and compassionate friendship! The pacing of the story (and the great performance) kept me invested in the characters the whole way through. Not to mention it was great to have a compelling story and characters that also bring the representation of what real life looks like to so many people (differently abled, gender fluidity, lifestyle/career choices, etc), without it being over the top or seemingly dramatized for the reader’s sake. Some serious writing gems (funny and just plain poetic beauty) in here too. Can’t wait for more from these writers!

Such a delightful story. Had so much fun listening
I had the opportunity to listen to The Break-Up Artist by Erin Clark and Laura Lovely and I had so much fun listening to it. This debut rom com was narrated by Regan Linton and she just brought Zelda and her journey to life for me. This was such a delightful story that was fun, touching and I could not stop listening. Zelda is going through a difficult time. She is stuck at her job, her dating life is almost non-existing and her dad threw her for life for a loop. The one bright spot for her is her secret identity of The Break-Up Artist. Want to break up with your significant other, tell her why and she will do it for you. But what happens when her secrets affect her real life?
Zelda is beautiful, feisty, smart and independent. She had a disability, but that disability does not define her. She is who she is and I loved that about her. When she finds a connection with Jake, she never imagined how one action could shatter a relationship she never saw coming. Will her life blow up or will she find the path she was always looking for? I loved this story so much and am excited to read more from this writing duo!
Happy listening!

Fun and interesting
I really enjoyed this story. The characters we likable and believable. I enjoyed the balance between the love story and the self realization of the main character. I also like that you got to hear some of the struggles of life in a wheelchair with out it dominating the story. The pregnancy was great.

Tender and lovely and needed
I believe this is the first book I’ve listened to, or read, where the fact a person is disabled is NOT the plot. Instead we get a story of humanity and how to be a good person and maybe find your place in life and someone to love.
The MC is in a wheelchair but except for how the world fails to accommodate for her chair and her basic human rights at times, that is never really the topic.
I genuinely loved this book and missed my good nights sleep as I couldn’t stop listening.

In your face
In the 1st paragraph you are slammed with political rightness. I love books of this type, but within the first few minutes of the first paragraph pronouns are slammed in your face.
