Publisher's Summary

Your inner Chimp can be your best friend or your worst enemy... this is the Chimp Paradox. Do you sabotage your own happiness and success? Are you struggling to make sense of yourself? Do your emotions sometimes dictate your life? Dr. Steve Peters explains that we all have a being within our minds that can wreak havoc on every aspect of our lives - be it business or personal. He calls this being "the chimp," and it can work either for you or against you. The challenge comes when we try to tame the chimp, and persuade it to do our bidding.

The Chimp Paradox contains an incredibly powerful mind management model that can help you be happier and healthier, increase your confidence, and become a more successful person. This audiobook will help you to recognize how your mind is working, understand and manage your emotions and thoughts, and become the person you would like to be. Dr. Peters explains the struggle that takes place within your mind and then shows you how to apply this understanding. Once you're armed with this new knowledge, you will be able to utilize your chimp for good, rather than letting your chimp run rampant with its own agenda.

Introspection to help in so many aspects of life!

A wonderful analogy to help understand the inner workings of our mind, how they play and how to manage them. A worthwhile listen and read

Must read

This book might be not what you want, but it's what you need. It's easy to listen, but hard to accept, because it makes you realize that your happiness is your responsibility, and there are no excuses to be the miserable mess it is so convenient to be.

Extremely Helpful

This book has been extremely helpful to me to manage my mental health. The author makes the material very easy to understand and uses incredibly helpful analogies.

I don’t remember him mentioning his wife. If so, it was very briefly.

The content of this book will help you to understand the different parts of your brain and how they function. It is very important and pertinent information to help manage mental illness.

Good solid narration of a terrible self help book.

It sounds like the author had his wife in the front of his mind the whole time he was writing this self help book. Narrator did a great job though.
