Publisher's Summary

An instant New York Times best seller!

The End of Her will keep you guessing right up to the end...once you pick it up, you will not want to put down." (USA Today)

The new domestic suspense novel from the New York Times best-selling author of The Couple Next Door and Someone We Know

A long-ago accident - and a visitor from out of the blue....

Stephanie and Patrick are adjusting to life with their colicky twin girls. The babies are a handful, but even as Stephanie struggles with the disorientation of sleep deprivation, there's one thing she's sure of: She has all she ever wanted.

Then Erica, a woman from Patrick's past, appears and makes a disturbing accusation. Patrick had always said his first wife's death was an accident, but now Erica claims it was murder.

Patrick insists he's innocent, that this is nothing but a blackmail attempt. Still, Erica knows things about Patrick - things that make Stephanie begin to question her husband. Stephanie isn't sure what, or who, to believe. As Stephanie's trust in Patrick begins to falter, Patrick stands to lose everything. Is Patrick telling the truth - is Erica the persuasive liar Patrick says she is? Or has Stephanie made a terrible mistake?

How will it end?

Riveting!

The author keeps you guessing and spins an incredibly interesting story. It was riveting and I loved it. The narrator is unable to voice male characters. They all sound the same. Otherwise, it’s a very enjoyable listen.

Did not like the abrupt ending.

I like a book where you are not left guessing after it is finished. I like guessing during the story but expect an actual ending. Otherwise I enjoyed the book and narrator.

Disappointing

The performance in my opinion was one of the poorest I have heard in Audible. The voice for the female character was just fine but as soon as the voice for any male in the story it all sounded the same. That got annoying. The story although kept me wanting to read more on one level was not redeeming in any way and the ending was in my opinion weak. The author ended the story with you guessing who killed the villain and that was the way she ties up the lose ends of the narratives and characters. Would not recommend

Good book

It was a really interesting book! The end still has me questioning if it was really done appropriately. Feels like the end was rushed.

Meh

Storyline kind of dragged on without many twists and turns, and ultimately concluded in a foreseeable and frustrating ending. Narrator was excellent though!

The End of Her

A good read filled with mystery, love, suspense and deceit. Set in normal circumstances it goes to show you never really know your partner. The ending left me wanting more, so I long hopefully for part 2.

The End Couldn't Come Soon Enough

A sophomoric attempt at a page-turner-- Instead, I just wanted to turn it off. Wooden, two dimensional characters; too many contrived sub-plots; and babies that only existed as a prop with no real human presence were big turn-offs. I'm glad I stuck it out to the end though, to see a completely ridiculous character turn-around, and another character exit the story with barely a thought-- No thank you!

Tedious, predictable.

I was so excited to listen to this book as I’ve enjoyed All of Shari Lapena’s other works. I was sadly disappointed though. The story was tedious and predictable. Not worth it in my opinion.

Repetitious

The basic story was interesting, although predictable. However, I almost gave up on it after reading page, after page, after page of how tired the main character was! How many times do we have to hear she isn’t sleeping because her babies have colic! And that’s her excuse for everything! Then there’s the part about safe deposit boxes, unrealistic, and impossible!

Not good

I really want to like this author and I've enjoyed a couple others by her. This, however, was awful. Long, boring, repetitive, and I hardly ever say this, but a waste of time and money. Try Someone We Know by her instead

Male voice 👎

HATED the male voice throughout the book. It made it difficult to listen all the way through.

Could not have cared less

You know a book is boring when you have to rewind to listen to chapters over again because you’re sure you must’ve missed some thing because the story makes no sense And is so boring. I had to do that three times with this book. Not worth it. A definite pass. Total disappointment.
