Suburbia. Shady, tree-lined streets; well-tended lawns; and cozy homes. A nice, quiet place to grow up. Unless you are teenage Meg or her crippled sister, Susan. On a dead-end street, in the dark, damp basement of the Chandler house, Meg and Susan are left captive to the savage whims and rages of a distant aunt who is rapidly descending into madness. Description
Instant Number-One Best Seller
A gripping new thriller by the author of the instant best seller Wherever She Goes.
Sometimes there's no use running from your past....
Genevieve has secrets that no one knows. In Rome she can be whoever she wants to be. Her neighbours aren't nosy; her Italian is passable; the shopkeepers and restaurant owners now see her as a local, and they let her be. It's exactly what she wants.
One morning, after getting groceries, she returns to her 500-year-old Trastevere apartment. She climbs to the very top of the staircase, the stairs narrowing the higher she goes. When she gets to her door, she puts down her bags and pushes the key into the lock....
...and the door swings open.
It's unlocked. Sometimes she doesn't lock it because break-ins aren't common in Rome. But Genevieve knows she locked the door behind her this morning. She has no doubt.
She should leave, call the police. What if someone is in her apartment, waiting for her? But she doesn't.
The apartment is empty, and exactly as she left it, perfectly tidy and not a thing out of place...except for the small box on her kitchen table. A box that definitely wasn't there this morning. A box postmarked from the US. A box that is addressed to "Lucy Callahan."
A name that she hasn't used in 10 years.
Edge-of-your-seat riveting, K.L. Armstrong's new book will keep you thrilled until the very end.

Once again Kelley Armstrong has wonderfully fleshed out main characters who are interesting and likeable. I enjoyed the story and would love to see Gen/Lucy and Marco in another book!

First Kelly Armstrong book I haven't liked
I have read and loved many Kelly Armstrong books but was disappointed with this one. It is one of very few books I couldn't finish listening to - it started out promising but I simply couldn't immerse myself in the story when the main character made so many blatantly foolish decisions.

I am not a fan of a narrative story
The premise of the story was okay however, the story was too long. Would have been better as a short story. I also did not like the fact that the story unfolded as a narration by the protagonist, Lucy, who was full of angst and making the same mistakes over again. It made Lucy hard to like.

I liked the ending the most
I had a bit of a hard time near the beginning with some bad decisions the main character made. I wasn't convinced someone would actually make the decisions that were made. The ending was nice and saved the story.
