A lot about nothing
Billed as the follow up to The Firm. It is about a kidnapping and trying to raise ransom money but no tension is built. No sympathy built for the kidnapped lawyer. No particular feelings about the villains because the author doesn’t tell us anything about them.

Tension-filled but Underwhelming
This book does a good job of celebrating the character of the chief protagonist but falls flat on much else. The plots is not sufficiently engaging for a Grisham and several sub-plots do not add any real twists to the story. I only finished the book because I hoped it would eventually salvage itself. It didn’t. Kudos to the voice actor who kept it alive as best he could.

Disappointed
This does not live up to John Grisham’s normal exciting work . The story drags. There was never any real danger and no actual climactic scene. Read more like a travelogue with people flying here and there and accomplishing nothing.

Not quite as good as I expected
I listened to The Firm before I listened to this. The story wasn’t up to the standards of The Firm at all. It could have been so much better. We don’t have any idea what the whole point of it was really. I was quite disappointed

No way related to The Firm
Was super excited! But veryvery disappointed! JG should have not tried to tie this very poor book to a masterful book such as The Firm!
