About this listen

I'm twenty-six years old, and I want to die.

So when I wake up at the hospital with my brother weeping over me, I know my life is about to change. What I didn't expect was to get a nurse with cruel eyes and a morbid sense of humor that surpasses my own.

I'm even more surprised when I arrive at Harlow Sanctum and realize that my brother selected an unorthodox rehabilitation center that rooms people based on their treatment plan. And my roommate is none other than the man with cruel eyes I met the day prior.

I crave death—he craves life.

Can two people like us cure each other?

I read the book first but when I heard an audio book was released I bought it immediately.

This story is so dark, but filled so much truth and love with a twist of paranormal and thriller, oh and some spice 😉. I loved it!

Make sure to check the trigger warnings ! Happy listening

Damaging and lovely

How do I even put my feelings for what this book just did to me into words?

"The fabric of our souls is thin and worn. We must be gentile and love tirelessly."

I'm such a sap. All it takes is for an author to break my heart and put it back together again. But this one waited until the end and I'm still a mess!

"Her soul is like chiffon, with plenty of tattered rips and tears."

This book was dark, steamy and absolutely tragic in the best way possible. Do not read this if you do not want your heart destroyed. It was hopefully heartwrenching.

This book explores multiple types of mental health and puts you in the forefront of the characters perspectives. A masochist who wants the pain of being alive; a broken heart who doesn't want to be a burden on the world and the people she loves. K.M. Moronova does not hold back and I'm going to be exploring more of her books in the upcoming months.

I'm wrecked. I knew this book was going to make me cry.

Having read the reviews leading up to this I would say I got a completely different novel. The interesting bones of the story were deeply layered under gratuitous sex scenes and long drawn scenes of nonsense.
I feel like the best parts of the story were treated as a secondary storyline and then the end was a cop out.
Overall very disappointing.
