Hi, my name is Yousef Saleh Erakat a.k.a. Fousey. I am a YouTuber, actor, wannabe motivational speaker, artist, and a depressive with over 15 million total YouTube subscribers, a couple of Hollywood movies on my resume, some big awards on my shelf, and for the first time, I will be opening up about how I survived my struggles with depression, anxiety, fame, suicidal thoughts, and addiction.

Story
This is a true story. A transparent story of the life of a young man in America, who, like many of our lost youth, found his way into the drug culture. This story is an autopsy into the mind, heart, and soul of an addict. It begins at childhood and takes us through the thoughts, turmoil, and inner conflicts of a person lost in the undercurrent of addiction, and ends in a climax of self-discovery and realization. It is a gripping tale of a suburban youth and his journey through the streets of Baltimore, institutions, prisons, addiction, and worst of all, his own mind.

My name is Brett. I'm a college-educated man who was once a husband of 26 years with two children, three businesses, and a large home with an actual white picket fence. I'm also a drug addict. And I have a tale to tell. It's about the despair of addiction and the absolute certainty that it can be overcome. Recovery is not simply abstinence, but a process of growing up. I spent my entire life searching for the key to long-term sobriety. I would like to share with you what I have learned.

Fame can be addictive. From his early days videotaping crazy skateboard stunts to starring in the blockbuster Jackass franchise, there was little that Stephen “Steve-O” Glover wouldn’t do for attention. Whether it was stapling his nutsack to his leg, diving into a pool full of elephant crap, or routinely risking death invading the private lives of sharks, lions, tigers, and bears, almost nothing was out of bounds. And as the stunts got crazier, his life kept pace.

Publisher's Summary
USA Today best-selling book!
Mike Majlak was a 17-year-old from a loving middle-class family in Milford, Connecticut, when he got caught up in the opioid epidemic that swept the nation. For close to a decade thereafter, his life was a wasteland of darkness and despair. While his peers were graduating from college, buying homes, getting married, having kids, and leading normal lives, Mike was snorting Oxycontin, climbing out of cars at gunpoint, and burying his childhood friends.
Unable to escape the noose of addiction, he eventually lost the trust and support of everyone who had ever loved him. Alone, with nothing but drugs to keep him company, darkness closed in, and the light inside him - the last flicker of hope - began to dim. His dreams, potential, and future were all being devoured by a relentless addiction too powerful to fight.
Despair filled him as he realized he wasn't going to survive. Somehow, he did. He not only survived, he thrived. Now, he's a social media personality with millions of followers and an entrepreneur, marketer, podcaster, YouTuber, and author who hopes to use his voice to shine a light for those whose own lights have grown dim. This is his story.

The honesty
As someone that has seen addiction and the desperation and sadness that comes with it, this is an honest account. He doesn’t feel sorry for himself. He feels sorry for the people in his life. I’ve been wanting to give this a listen for awhile and really happy I did. Great work and honest work at that. Please do give it a listen or read, truly great. If someone you know is struggling get them to listen, can for sure save a life.

Book is straight fire
I never finished a book.. and wish I hadn’t. It was similar to your favorite movie or documentary.. you love it the entire way though & all the sudden.. it’s over. I can’t wait for the movie to come out just so I can be the guy that says “the book was way better”. Mike turned his dark past & bloomed it into a bright future. This book symbolizes something different for everyone. For me, although I’ve never been an addict myself.. it really opened up an insight into a whole new world. It was also a symbol of hope & you can truly achieve anything w the right mindset.

Don’t recommend listening to when working
I am a house keeper, but was once a child who was abused by her addictive parents. So hard to listen to without absolutely balling my eyes out. Such a compelling story that unfortunately a lot of us completely understand. If you’re an addict, or love someone who is/was. Very much recommend

Inspiring!
I read this book cover to cover and couldn’t put it down so when I saw the opportunity to listen to Mike narrate it I couldn’t resist doubling down and purchasing the audiobook as well. Mike is someone who I can only hope to be one day, his work ethic and hustle are second to none when it comes to a role model. We all have our demons but knowing they don’t have to define us and can be our greatest assets in learning who we are is what I will take away most from this book. I hope one day to have the opportunity to have a face to face conversation with Mike where I can ask him some questions and just listen. I’m in awe every time he opens up about his story and seeing him where he is now only confirms that person was always inside of him he just had to tread through high waters to emerge!!! Keep going Mike!
Mac, well done with the cover and the audiobook as well!

Overcoming the least likely
Absolutely incredible read and stories that Mike has gone through. Inspirational for some, entertaining for others. A real life true story of someone who was battling an almost certain mortal addiction that left tens of thousands dead every year and the path he took to break through the norm of the deadly path of addiction, mainly to OxyContin. Thrilling and defining what it takes to get through hard times, I throughly enjoyed listening to this book, twice now. Thank you for your courage and openness in writing and producing this autobiography.

A must listen for anyone battling addiction
I found out who Mike was through videos on YouTube. I didn’t know about his battle with addiction until recently and then saw him promote this book so I checked it out. Whatever opinion you have of him from his videos online is irrelevant so throw it out. This is a perfectly executed book about what it’s like to have this disease and was made profoundly more authentic by his brutal honesty about the details most would be to ashamed to share. Mad respect to this dude.
