About this listen

The Classic Text Annotated to Update Graham's Timeless Wisdom for Today's Market Conditions

The greatest investment advisor of the 20th century, Benjamin Graham taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" - which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies - has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market Bible ever since its original publication in 1949.

Over the years, market developments have proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. While preserving the integrity of Graham's original text, this revised edition includes updated commentary by noted financial journalist Jason Zweig, whose perspective incorporates the realities of today's market, draws parallels between Graham's examples and today's financial headlines, and gives listeners a more thorough understanding of how to apply Graham's principles.

Vital and indispensable, this HarperBusiness Essentials edition of The Intelligent Investor is the most important book you will ever listen on how to reach your financial goals.

Editorial Review

If the stock market had an official bible, it would be The Intelligent Investor. First published in 1949, this financial guide has been on every investor’s lips for decades, and now you can have it in your ears.

Listeners who are considering getting into the investment game and long-time investment professionals equally stand to gain something from this title. The strategies that were relevant decades ago have stood the test of time and are just as applicable to the modern day. They have a particular focus on the adoption and execution of sound investment principles.

Luke Daniels has narrated no less than 250 titles and received more than a dozen AudioFile Earphones Awards for his efforts. Daniels has worked on countless best sellers including works by Jack Kerouac and Nora Roberts. In his narration for The Intelligent Investor, Daniels offers his distinguished tone and clear cadence in sharing Graham’s invaluable nuggets of investment advice.

Benjamin Graham, the man behind this Wall Street bible, began investing at a young age straight after graduating university. He would go on to become an economist and professor. The Intelligent Investor was his second release, which he produced to share many of the lessons he had learned throughout his years in the industry.

His work has remained a best seller since its release, and inspired many of the world’s top investors. It also led to his eventual win of the Excellence in Investor Education Award in 2002 for educating the public about value investing.

It's really dry but it's worth the read. Written by the dude who taught Warren Buffett his financial skills, and yeah I totally see stuff from here being used at Berkshire Hathaway. I'm going to reread in a year once I've learned more financial literacy.
