The Other Mrs.

My least favourite of Mary Kubica’s books. I guess that 12 hour books are no longer my thing. An abridged version would’ve held my attention a bit better.

Good story, bad narrator

I really didn’t like the narration of this book, it ruined the experience for me. It’s like she has no emotions, like she’s reading a grocery list the whole time. Story was alright.

Slow burn, dark and twisty

I don't care much for the narrator. The story felt slow but became dark and twisty towards the end and it was really good. Glad I stuck with it. A good reward in the end

Abuse from a child's POV

I found this book really hard to listen to, and ultimately couldn't finish as there were chapters of child abuse from a kid's perspective which I don't enjoy in these types of stories. Its fairly mild compared to a lot of thrillers and crime stories, so many people will be ok with it, but if you're sensitive to that kind of content this may not be the book for you.

Spine tingler

Thought many times I had this story figured out but I was wrong on so many levels. The ending will shock you.

Predictable

I found this story rather predictable and I am never able to predict who the bad guy is or where it’s headed.

Awful narrator

Not sure if i can make it through this story. The narrator is terrible. She sounds mechanical and robotic. It's impossible to get immersed in this story as it sounds like your listening to r2d2. Alexa would have done a better job.

Robotic Voice

I only lasted a few minutes. No offense intended but the narrator sounds computer generated.

Ugh, the narration

I'm returning this book. I made it through about 3 chapters before the narration finally drove me crazy. She sounds like a robot child. So awful. I'm bummed because I was really excited about this book. Guess I'm going to get the ebook instead.

Pls change narrator so I can finish the book

Like many of the other reviews, it’s is difficult to get past the horrible robotic narration of the book. I can’t say if this book is good or not bc I cannot get past chapter 2.

Didn’t want to get out of my car!!!

I’ve been a huge Mary Kubica fab since THE GOOD GIRL, but this might be my favorite of hers yet. The twists are insane. I thought I knew where Mary was going with this, but then I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY! As always, Mary transported me with her characters -- I started to live with them and feel scared for them. And, the setting was insanely creepy -- visceral. It is Mary's first book set outside of Chicago and she did an immense job with this lonely coastal Maine town. There is a reason it Netflix is so excited about making this a movie!!!!

Didn't know where it was going

Great characters with lots of twists! Never knew who the bad guy was until the end. Satisfied with the ending! Also absolutely no issue with narrator and I'm a narrator snob :)

Roller coaster

This is a very entertaining book! Figured out one twist early on but not all of them. Fun and dark, held my interest throughout. I liked the narration, I didn’t find it annoying or robotic. This is a great listen and definitely worth the credit.

Absolutely loved it!

I have been a huge fan of Mary Kubica since I picked up Pretty Baby, and she did not disappoint with The Other Mrs. It is very dark and twisted, and any fans of her previous work are going to love it...it may be my new favorite. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an early copy. I loved it so much that I pre-ordered the audiobook and listened the day it was released. The narrator was excellent, and listening made the story seem even sinister than it did while I read it. Can't wait for her next book!
