Story
When I arrive unannounced at my husband's studio in need of a shoulder to cry on after hearing that my best student, Alex, has died, I see a pair of wineglasses drying by the sink, and my deepest fear is confirmed: my husband is having an affair. Most women would fall to their knees in tears and throw him out of the house - but I just can't bring myself to do it. Instead, I go home and cook a healthy dinner for our children, walk the dog, and unload the dishwasher without complaint. I need this marriage to work to protect a terrible secret of my own....

Story
Ava only left her daughter in the pushchair for five minutes. The buckle was fastened, and she was sure it was safe. But when she came downstairs, the door was open and Abi was gone - she walked down the road, past the Lovegoods' house, and was never seen again. A year later, the Lovegoods throw a housewarming party, showing off the results of their renovation. Ava doesn’t want to go. She can’t bear to look down that end of the road, to see the place where Abi vanished, and she doesn’t want to spend time with people who don’t share her grief.

Story
Emily and Jake are the perfect couple. Or so everyone says. But Emily just read a letter that has shattered her perfect world. Now she only has one thing on her mind. Which one of her friends is sleeping with her husband?
Publisher's Summary
"Altogether unpredictable." (Karin Slaughter, New York Times best-selling author)
Propulsive and addictive, and perfect for fans of You, The Other Mrs. is the twisty new psychological thriller from Mary Kubica, the New York Times best-selling author of The Good Girl
She tried to run, but she can’t escape the other Mrs.
Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to small-town Maine when their neighbor Morgan Baines is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie.
But it’s not just Morgan’s death that has Sadie on edge. And as the eyes of suspicion turn toward the new family in town, Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of what really happened that dark and deadly night. But Sadie must be careful, for the more she discovers about Mrs. Baines, the more she begins to realize just how much she has to lose if the truth ever comes to light.
“Brilliant!” (Liv Constantine, best-selling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish)
“Kubica’s best book yet.” (Sarah Pekkanen, number-one New York Times best-selling co-author of An Anonymous Girl)
What the critics say
"Kubica ratchets up tension and intrigue in The Other Mrs. Her salacious, thoroughly mysterious characters bear the qualities we all crave in a thriller - seductive, seemingly unknowable, and altogether unpredictable." (Karin Slaughter, New York Times best-selling author of The Last Widow)
"Brilliant! An utterly absorbing tale of deception and subterfuge. Kubica is a master of sleight of hand. Absolutely loved it!" (Liv Constantine, best-selling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish and The Last Time I Saw You)
"In The Other Mrs., Mary Kubica weaves a labyrinth of deception and family secrets, each one more shocking than the last, with an ending that left me thunderstruck. If you have any doubts Mary Kubica is a master of the genre, this book will change your mind." (Samantha Downing, best-selling author of My Lovely Wife)
"The Other Mrs. is Mary Kubica’s best book yet - which is saying a lot! I tore through the twisty, spine-tinglingly creepy pages." (Sarah Pekkanen, number one New York Times best-selling co-author of An Anonymous Girl)
"Brilliantly propulsive and engrossing, with characters you’ll really care about and twists you won’t see coming, THe Other Mrs. is that rare thing: a thriller with heart." (J. P. Delaney, New York Times best-selling author of The Girl Before)

Abuse from a child's POV
I found this book really hard to listen to, and ultimately couldn't finish as there were chapters of child abuse from a kid's perspective which I don't enjoy in these types of stories. Its fairly mild compared to a lot of thrillers and crime stories, so many people will be ok with it, but if you're sensitive to that kind of content this may not be the book for you.

Not sure if i can make it through this story. The narrator is terrible. She sounds mechanical and robotic. It's impossible to get immersed in this story as it sounds like your listening to r2d2. Alexa would have done a better job.

Didn’t want to get out of my car!!!
I’ve been a huge Mary Kubica fab since THE GOOD GIRL, but this might be my favorite of hers yet. The twists are insane. I thought I knew where Mary was going with this, but then I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY! As always, Mary transported me with her characters -- I started to live with them and feel scared for them. And, the setting was insanely creepy -- visceral. It is Mary's first book set outside of Chicago and she did an immense job with this lonely coastal Maine town. There is a reason it Netflix is so excited about making this a movie!!!!

Absolutely loved it!
I have been a huge fan of Mary Kubica since I picked up Pretty Baby, and she did not disappoint with The Other Mrs. It is very dark and twisted, and any fans of her previous work are going to love it...it may be my new favorite. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an early copy. I loved it so much that I pre-ordered the audiobook and listened the day it was released. The narrator was excellent, and listening made the story seem even sinister than it did while I read it. Can't wait for her next book!
