About this listen

A new, jaw-dropping thriller from the instant #1 New York Times bestseller of The Boyfriend and The Housemaid!

There's no place like home…

Blake Porter is riding high, until he's not. Fired abruptly from his job as a VP of marketing and unable to make the mortgage payments on the new brownstone he shares with his fiancée, he's desperate to make ends meet.

Enter Whitney. Beautiful, charming, down-to-earth, and looking for a room to rent. She's exactly what Blake's looking for. Or is she?

Because something isn't quite right. The neighbors start treating Blake differently. The smell of decay permeates his home, no matter how hard he scrubs. Strange noises jar him awake in the middle of the night. And soon Blake fears someone knows his darkest secrets...

Danger lives right at home, and by the time Blake realizes it, it'll be far too late. The trap is already set.

I just can't believe Freida wrote this.

It's boring, pointless and drawn out. There's a whole chapter of how the fruit flies got in the kitchen cabinet. at this point I quit reading it. I could not finish this book.

Finished in one day

Frieda McFadden has done it again! The Tenant is a gripping psychological thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. I actually enjoyed this one even more than The Crash—it’s one of her stronger works, in my opinion. With her signature twists, tense pacing, and relatable characters, McFadden delivers another unputdownable story. The main character Blake made me want to yell at him at times. I would hope someone who could be the VP of a company wouldn’t be so naive. She remains my favorite author, and I’d definitely recommend this book to any thriller fan, especially if you’re into dark secrets and suspenseful storytelling. A great listen!

Slow Start but worth the Twists at the End

I have read the reviews & while I do agree the first 1/3rd of the book tends to plod slowly along, hang in there because the twists and turns come at you so fast, it will have your head spinning...overall, a suspenseful and entertaining read!

What’s the hype?

Love the Housemaid but this is not even as good… the twist is good! But after that it unravels so fast that you loose interest..
wasn’t sure about the narrator at the bedding… it’s ok I guess
Edit: the ending omg

Plot Twist was Twisted

I loved this book. It kept me attention. The characters were pretty interesting and I enjoyed that as flawed as Blake was, he was still likeable when you ‘ thought ‘ you hated him ! This will be one of those books I listen to again just for the fun of it !

Flies Flies Flies

There was a whole lot of talk about Flies (lol) but in the end it did make sense as to why.
Another good book by Freida that left me thinking that I had it figred out till the end!
Surprise twist that I did not see coming at all.
Narration was great, finished the book in 3 days.
I have enjoyed some of her other books way more but I still would recommend to any of her fans.

Enjoyable but very repetitive

I was really excited to listen to this book on my way to work, and I did enjoy it! However, I have to say that it felt a bit repetitive, and the story didn’t seem to progress much. While it’s great to have different perspectives on the same situation, it felt somewhat redundant at times. There were moments when I thought, "Didn’t I hear that before?" That said, the book does fulfill its purpose of entertaining
