Probably best to avoid

Little paints himself into corners then simply strides out of the room with muddy boots on.
I was uncertain who I was suppose to cheer for. It's never clear, not even to very end. The closest thing to a protagonist is an aged grandmother. And while I wouldn't call her a minor character she's certainly not a major one by any means.
But Little's descriptive skills are fine and there's some strong straight up horror that's fun,
I didn't care for the narration much. He sounds like Foster Brooks - the later years. YouTube him if you don't know.
I've read a few Little books but I liked them much better than this one.
